How soon after driving the car with the mbc installed did you hear the noise? Also, what are the circumstances, under throttle, at idle, or all of the time?

umm, after i went under boost for the first time (10psi) and it's only under trottle on all gears. idk, it's kinda like a fluttering chipmunk sound. it's stressing me out.

Does the noise appear only while under boost or at all times?

take of MBC ASAP...
does it kinda sound like metal tapping when you apply throttle?
(IE similiar to someone tapping a screwdriver around all the spokes on a bicycle wheel?)

well if you're sure its not just the injectors clicking then its prolly a rod knocking. Stop driving it. put it all back to stock. EVERYTHING. Put the engine cover back on if you don't have it on and try to make it look like nothing was messed with. Then take it to a dealer.

just a SRI, thats it
turn the boost down back to 5.5 and or get and afc controller if you want to boost 10psi.
good luck bro

is there a way to fix detonation without going to the dealer and getting reamed by the cost?

You probably have a messed up wrist pin, spun bearing or bent rod. More than likely you will need to rebuild the bottom end. Sorry bro, it's not gonna be cheap. If you do not have warranty, find a reputable shop other than the dealer to do the work. For the price the dealer will try to charge you, you could probably put a built shortblock in it.

Just curious, but how long have you had your speed?

That sounds more like when your in full boost and you let off the throttle and your recirculating valve goes to work. Only its more noticeable because your running more boost.

ok, and now my car starts to just give out after boosting.... the engine cuts off
that is called spark cut or some call it fuel cut. Your car meters the amount of air to determine the amount of fuel to add to the air measured. it tranfers it to a voltage reading. When the car sees too much it will cut your engine out. Feels like your hitting a wall. This is common on cold nights and or boosting over stock. Some get it at stock boost.

So, I'm confused. Are hearing a metallic tapping or a sound like marbles in a can? Because that would be knocking or detonation. Or, are you hearing the turkey and getting fuel cut? Do you hear the noise at idle? Does the noise increase in frequency and/ or volume with rpm?
Sspring89

alright, i think i've narrowed it down to the valve springs, one of my friends has owned his own shop for almost 20 years and he said that he's almost posotive that it's the valve spring... and yes it does happen at idle and it does increase in frequency with rpm.

i also have a slight clicking noise, but its when i just tap the throttle, and it goes away when im not on the throttle or giving it more than 1/8th throttle, any ideas?
