Heres the situation.
My Spicy has about 19,7xx miles and is in really good condition. Some of you might have seen it in the for sale section. I really like the car but I kind of want to go RWD and work with a platform that has a stronger motor and more aftermarket support. So here's my problem:
I don't like driving the car because of such low milage and I want to keep it that way. However I have to drive it a lot because school is in Florida and I live in Atlanta. What do you guys think I should do? I don't have the money to pick up a beater (im borrowing my dad's extra Jeep right now, not going to happen again) and won't have much money to mod the MSP (built motor would probably come first) further until summer.

God I suck at this, mods could you move this to the MSP Welcome area. I think it would be better there.

Do what I did. Sell it to a private buyer, put the money down on a new Mustang GT. Now you've got 300hp and 320 ft. lbs. of torque. Get an exhast, intake, chip and tune, and you're easily over 350hp. Later, add a supercharger. Now you're up to close to 450hp, which is about all the stock internals can handle.

I would do that but I am in no position to take on a car payment because im in college and trying to avoid working during the school year. If I sold it I would be doing the following:
S13 Coupe, 2JZ-GTE swap with some suspension work and other goodies

I could possibly trade you a 97 bmw 328i and cash for it... let me know if your interested at all... and the car is posted in the for sale forum.

agreed. i really don't get the "i have a car that i like alot but don't want to put miles on it," argument. its a car, plain and simple. its meant to be driven.

TRUE! my msp had only 10k miles this time last year. i would always avoid driving it to keep the miles down. now im like fuck it its a freakin car and i need to get from a to b. oh but its a mazdaspeed and modded. fuckin hell its just a damn protege. a PROTEGE. like....a four door sedan for families from japan sold at the lowest buildable dollar. with that in me im almost at 30k now...one year later.

Shit, that conversion looks insane... I may just have to go down to Georgia and invest in one of those! I can get my hands on an s-14 pretty cheap via someone I know... I'm probably look at a 10-11K total investment on a car that would be crazy fun to drive... hmmm then I wouldn't care that my MSP is a daily driver and I could toy around with that beast!

You have a newer, low mileage car, that gets good gas mileage and is fun to drive.
You're still in college.
Concentrate on college, get good grades, get a good job, then go and buy a nice car or faster play toy with the money from a career.

+1, totally agree. Thats what I did. Now I have a MS6 and my bike. Don't get in over your head in college. Plenty of time to build your car after when you have the money to do it right.

Back on topic though, I think im just going to have to get over my ocd about the milage. Maybe ill put a piece of tape over the odo :)

your friends car is badass, lol. i can take it down if he doesn't want it up, juts thought i would post the newest swap that they did.
since mspi has started doing those swaps, i've been wanting a 240. i want a kouki. i'm torn though because i can't find one in the shape that i want that's not over 12k and i don't want to sell my protege. hopefully by the next summer i can find one and have it swapped.

I just put a business card over the milleage so I don't spend too much time looking at it but I have to remember to look for my oil change.

Ok, for now its staying with me. If someone makes an offer I cant refuse it will leave but thats not very likely so yea.. Ive got some plans for it though, just depends on what kind of job I can get this summer and how much money I spend over the course of next semester. Hopefully there will be some new toys to add after christmas.......
