i am going to have to replace my O2 sensor rather quickly. i need the bank 1 sensor 1 if i am correct. i priced one at advance auto parts and they priced it at like $280.00 anyone know where to get one cheaper? thanx

Dont Cheap out. The holes should look the same... If it's slits, apparently it will not work well.

$280? - I thought they were like $110 from mazda?

yea 280 is over kill big time...should be able to get them for 100 or less...the problem with the slit version(bosch usually) is that is just tends to gum up a little faster for some reason...funny thing is the hole version actually has more "open" surface area which would lead one to believe it would clog up faster.....in the mean time you can pull it and spray it out with brake parts cleaner to get a little more life out of it...works about 80% of the time...

I'll vouch for the carb cleaner extending the life of the sensor.

by the way found out more on the slit styles and why then tend to fail faster...apparently the way the threads are designed in relation to the slits, when fully tightened the slits face directly towards the front of the car...meaning they act like giant plows forcing all the crap into the sensor housing...whereas the holes use passive measurements....normally this wouldnt be a problem, except the stupid msp runs pig rich in stock form...
