Is there a difference between the 1.6L protege pads and rotors and the 2.0 liter P5 pads and rotors? Why would engine size affect these things. I can understand in higher powered cars need more stopping power but basically I'm going to get my Front pads and rotors changed tomorrow (no I don't want to do it myself).
I was quoted $200 for new pads and rotors and labor. Thing is I called last week and was quoted $160 by the same place. They said the difference was due to them thinking my P5 was a 1.6L as opposed to a 2.0L which sonunds pretty lame to me.
Can someone please set me straight?

no clue. I'm just curious if it would be more expensive to change pads and rotors on a 1.6 as opposed to a 2.0 or is that just BS.

Dude, the cost has nothing to do with size of the engine.
4-lug rotors are usually cheaper than the 5-lug on our P5's.
They made the mistake in thinking you have a 1.6L engine and 4-lug rotors.

OK, I'll ask....Were there ever P5's with 1.6s and/or 4 lug hubs/rotors in North America or anywhere else?

I was thinking bigger motor , bigger brakes more cost, so I guess I was wrong. Thanks for setting me straight.

This all musta been taking place in Japan OR you called Japan by mistake to ask about parts OR it was on ebay from there OR something completely different. So, parts for cars not sold in the US come up in parts computers here? Supercaliflatuationistic !
