Does anyone know of any kind of vendor that makes/sells leather replacement parts for cars? I'm thinking a leather center console lid for the CX-7 would help soften up the feel of the interior. Seems like it'd be pretty easy to do.

You could contact Shaundarbie on here, he did custom shift and e-brake boots for the Protege, 626, etc. Really top-notch stuff, all handmade

Here's his vendor review thread http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?t=68331

you can PM him from there, his profile says he was last on the forums a few days ago so he's still around.

Here's my shift boot from when I first got it, still looks as good as it did day 1 and I haven't even remembered to treat it! It's been more than two years now :)

You should be able to get someone to cover the existing lid pretty easily. The lid might actually be easy enough to do yourself if you feel handy but sometimes it's best to leave it to the experts. (smash)
