Debating on installing a Sirius in my car but where do you place the sat antenna? On the trunk? roof? and will that thing screw up the paint job? Thats the only reason i havent stuck it on my car yet.

on the trunk is the normal placement like 90% of the time. rest fo the time Ive seen them on my roof. I wouldnt put it on the outside, I think it looks tacky plus I agree with paint. Although, Ive never seen one OFF after its been on for a while so I couldnt tell you if it does paint damage. I would imagine though that because its stationary and doesnt get removed, that no damage would come from it. I do hate some of the cheap aftermarket ones that are magnets.
I will only do sirius/XM if its Built into the head unit and I can get away with the antenna being in the car (on the back dash panel behind the rear seats).

I learned on this forum that putting in the car by the rear window would work......so that's what I did. I hid the wire under rear deck and it's placed on the child seat anchor door thing. My sirius works great and for the occasional "cut out" here and there...it's worth just putting it in the car. Go for it!

i have mine hidden under the rear deck cover, and like said before, it works good like 90% of the time. it only really cuts out when i'm in town or going through a tunnel or something.

I bought my car with it located on the trunk deck. Works good. Might be looking to sell mine cuz I dont really use it that much. Not sure how much all that stuff is worth though?

I put my XM antenna on the roof, right at the back, behind the stock anteanna and ran the wire into the hatch. I know you have an MSP, so I'd throw it on the trunk, right at the front by the window.

Mine's on the roof, it's just on there with some two sided tape, I doubt it will hurt the paint. It's been on there for three years come January 15th. You can just barely see it in my sig.

If you guys have a magnetic one you can also try up underneath your trunk lid. I've witnessed one like that on a Protege MP3 and it worked :)

I have one in two different vehicles and one is on the roof, the other on the front cowl next to the radio antenna. (wiring nicely concealed) Both work just fine. They are magnetic and have not hurt the paint any. The main thing is to be sure the surface is clean when you stick it on, and remove it and clean every so often. Than keeps any grit from between the magnet and paint. Its so small that I hardly notice it.

Mine is inside the plastic hatch spoiler on my P5. Stuck in there with 3m body tape. I had it on the roof for about a year and it started to get little scratches underneath it, but I didn't clean under it very often either.
