so after 2 years of owning the speed and just changing my rear brake pads, it started making rattling noises. So after numerous times taking the tires off and on... just realized i was missing the screws that were holding the rotors. Anybody know what type of bolts they are and the size? I'm in urgent help!
Thanks in advance!!

there are screws holding the rotors? thats news to me. as far as i know, mazda didn't use rotor screws on the protege. also, (think about it) when you torque the wheel onto the hub, the rotor ain't going no where.

ah i had this problem a while back. not with a protege but with my 93 eagle talon. changing the front rotors i realized there were two screws that were in it. didn't know what they were for and they were seized up so i drilled them out. then i found out there was an abs hub behind my rotor and the screws held the rotor and the abs hub together. long story short i f*ck*d up real bad. maybe the protege has the same thing? (haven't done brakes on one yet so can't 100% help you there)

soak them down in pb blaster and use a inline impact driver if you can get access to one. if not a pointed tip chisel and a hammer can get it out. make an indention around the edge of the screw and start tapping out around.

the holes for the screws are there, but no screws. i was concerned about this too, but i guess mazda never used them.
if you put on the lug nuts with a torque wrench and set them all to the same torque, that should be enough to guarantee no rotor wobble.

there are threaded hole on the rotor, but those are for releasing the rotor fromthe hub - you thread a bolt into it, and it becomes a jack screw to push the rotor off.
