very nice, s2k's are very fun cars. The " no torque" comments people say are bs,
8k+ rpms is what a sports car should rev up to.

lol well having daily driven my car around for awhile now.. i'd actually have to agree that in the lower rpms the car has a serious lack of torque. i've heard the recommended shift point is at 3500 for optimal gas mileage, but when i do that, i fall behind everyone at every stop light. camrys and suv's pass me on either side, and the people behind me usually end up changing lanes and passing me up. i have to shift around 4500 just to keep up, and 5500 in order to have any sort of "oomph" in acceleration.

i believe the car is rated at 162 ft lb at 6500 rpm :p

when the car's in vtec though, it's is pretty quick. great turn in, awesome balance, my only complaint is the rear feels a little ..unstable? i've driven turbo fc, fd, ka-t 240sx, and miatas, and they all have a very predictable behavior at the traction limit. the s2000 starts to break free, but it feels like it jerks itself back. it doesn't want to lose grip or something.. i dunno, but the first time i experienced it i was a bit thrown off at the handling characteristic.

btw, i saw a blue protege (regular) on the 5 southbound right around culver .. with mazdaspeed badges. having owned a msp in the past i felt a pang of sadness. lol

edit: gaboost, i agree though, i love the high revving nature of the engine and wouldn't have it any other way.

Nice upgrade.

S2ki is a wealth of knowledge, it just turns off a lot of people because the average ownership is over 30, and sometimes comes off as a bit elitist. But once some of the regulars get to know you, it's all golden.

Let me know if you ever need any help with the car. I've got some experience working on them and racing them (circuit and autocross, but never dragged it).
