Im looking to Buy a New set of rims and tires this spring.....I wondered if anyone has put some wide wheels and tires on there ride yet and if so how its working out, or if anyone has just tried some on.

Im looking at Wedssport Sa40s......or similar, Im still deciding and have time to. I want to get a 18x8.5 Im thinking about a 32ish offset to push out the wheels to allow for the tires....Possibly 255 35 18 or in that area..... But I dont want to chew anything up. Looking for any suggestions...I put 225 40 18s with 40 or 45 offset "cant remember" on now and they clear fine. Any replys will be appreciated! Thanks!

How about you buy some spacers on all 4 to get that aggressive wide tire stance.. just a thought :) Might save ya some $$$ in the long run.

I'm 99.99999% sure that the specs. will be the same as the regular 3

I think the MS3 has a wider body and so probably wider fenders. The brakes calipers are larger as well.

MS3 stock wheel size is 18". So no, the specs aren't exactly the same.

They did actually widen and open up the fenders more to allow for the stock 18s.....18s would fit on a regular 3 but that is what I read on a Mazda page. As for tirerack they do have the MS3 on there, and you can pick cosmic blue :) they have 19s as well..........but I dont want 19s. and the 18s they have on there for the tire recommended size they just give you the stock tire size.....But Ill have to go back over it again and check for the widest wheel then try to see the tire sizes.....Spacers may help aswell, I havent counted out using those. Thank you All for your responses already! Lets keep them coming!!!

I could not find MS3 on tire rack.com

It's on there - even has a picture of the actual car to see the rims on (unlike the MSP where they just had a pic of a regular Protege).

still its almost impossible to see what the rims will actually look like on the car on that thing. It makes 18's look likt 16's most of the time. What kind of wheels do you have on there now?

As for the widest wheel? I know that Ive seen the rx8 wheels on the ms3, those are 18x8 and fit with no rubbing. 18x8.5 might be pushing it a little, but I imagine it would fit with a slight fender roll no problem.

the fenders on the ms3 are a little widerfront and back, i have 18x8 45 off set 225/40/18 on my 04 3 and its ok....

There have been a few ppl that have put the RX8 wheels even on the regular 3. So ms3 should have no problem there.

The stock wheel size is 215-45R18, you could probably get away with 235's. 255's would require a different wheel and offset as you have already mentioned above. 255 seems really wide, that may be pushing it.

These are all guesses, so hopefully someone that has a MS3 that has actually put on different wheels can respond.
Best thing to do right now is go find a tire calculator and see what wheels you will need for the tire size you want.

www.tiretrends.com has this wicked tool that lets you upload a pic of your car and then basically photoshop some wheels on it and www.1010tire.com has a tire size calculator. They are both Cdn websites (I'm cdn), but you can still just use their tools.

The Rims on there now are just on for the winter. They are Riax Seca 18x8 45 offset.....from my eclipse. But I bought them a couple years ago and the specs on them that I can find now are 18x7.5 +45...So I might have forgotten the true size, I have kumho allseason 225 40 18 tires for the snow :(, But they fit fine, their a cheaper wheel that is produced by American Racing...their heavy and nothing special but are doin the job. Thanks to everyone for the great sites... Im going to go over them and try to figure out which setup will work best. And that one site with all the 3s with wheels is great for ideas, Too bad its not in English, lol, but it works great! Ill probably end up with a 18x8 +40 with a 245 35 18, thing is 255s are easier to find and are about the same price.....but since they are more popular you can find them cheaper too. Well thanks to everyone for your help and ideas... Im Still interested what anyone else has to say.. Thanks Again!

On that Japanese website, some guys have 19s and 20s on their car. It doesn't even look like their tires would be able to turn. And if they could, then how would they even get over a pebble.
