need some advice

hey guys im new here so could u guys help me out?

i just got a j-spec intake/exhaust cams and im thinking of installing it but a friend told me that i need a new ecu and cam gears and all this other stuff to feel the real performance, is this true? he doesnt drive a pro5 so i figured asking u guys. thanks

not entirely true. first off, the cam gears will help out quite a bit, because they will allow you to fine tune the cams. you will be able to squeeze more power out of them, but installed by themselves they will still give you a boost. the ecu (i assume your friend means a standalone unit) will give you tuning ability once again, but is independent of the cams. ecu has very little to do with the cams, that would be for more fuel management type of applications. (ie adjusting rich/lean conditions)
