how you guys doing?
new to this site...from Toronto
need help deciding on CAI...AEM or INJEN?
Leaning towards AEM only b/c its slightly cheaper, what you think?
Also, to increase performance, what do you think I should do?....get a chip,
intercooler, etc.
As well, has anyone used the fuel max torpedo product for better fuel efficiency?
Thanks

Welcome to the forum, what color MSP did you get? I don't want to say it but search, everything has been talked about to death almost. The chip, no one really makes a chip for our cars unless you mean Unichip if that's the case yes I would get that. I always thought the AEM intake was more expensive, try searching in the for sale section there usually is someone selling an intake.

neither of them....intakes don't do anything..the airbox is good enough....just get a drop-in...by getting an intake all you are doing is unleashing the turkey

Neither? In my opinion I would get an injen (thats what I have) Then you really get to hear the turbo suckin all that air in! and hasnt it been dynoed that an injen gives you 6 whp on a stock msp? (6 isnt much, but every little bit helps)

5 WHP for 200 dollars? talk about power to money ratios!!
i think running higher octane gas would come cheaper and will give more hp
run octane boosters for 6 dollars
change tires to a smaller diameter
open a hole in the bottom of the stock airbox for even more gains
remove vtcs FREE
gut cats FREE
dump exhaust FREE
they all give more HP than the CAI piece of shit (sorry...i'm still a little on the edge)

why did you convert to a short ram if you liked the CAI so much?

I believe he made it short ram because he needed the hole that the CAI went in to route the cold side of his intercooler piping.
IMO, A CAI is not gaining much if anything over a short ram since the turbo is going to heat the air instantly anyways.
I made my own SRI and like it. Turbo becomes loud:)

I'd go with the free or cheap mods, turbo cars respond well to free flowing exhausts and intakes.
