AEM intake off of 05 Mazda 6s sold to get the CX7. Cheap, easy, and it sounds good. According to the butt dyno mid and upper rpm power seemed to increase. Throttle reponse has improved also.

Fit is perfect!

Looks good. Amazing how much they charge for a little piece of metal and a cone filter.

Looks good. Amazing how much they charge for a little piece of metal and a cone filter. It costs HALF as much as the CPE CAI.(first) Besides that it was free....had it sitting around after the 6 was sold.

Couldn't be any bigger. Fits in there perfect now. As you can see, I still have the scoop intact to draw in the cool air.

Finally sounds like a turbo car. You can hear the air being sucked in the intake. The stock BOV is now apparent.

nice, good to know an intake off 05 6 will fit...i think i'd rather have a short intake than a CAI, due to having to worry about a CAI getting water.
so does it really sound nicer...?

Let me say this....it sounds like a turbo car should sound like.:)

As far as install.....this is straight forward.

My standard CX 7 intake system draws cool air from in-front of the radiator. The picture of the custom system appears to draw hot air from the engine compartment. A'm I missing something ?

just installed the aem intake same one as yours this morning.. i can notice the pickup, and i can hear the turbo sound now.. hahaha... but i think i might make a custom heat shield to block the engine heat from the intake.....

Hey, just wondering if you can take pics inside your engine. I'm trying to figure out how'd you install the whole AEM system. Namely, the support bar for the pipe. I can't figure out a good place to bolt it onto the chassis because the intake tube is crooked when I attached the AEM pipe to it. Did you stretch the intake tube like crazy so that the support bar would bolt on properly?
