View Full Version : Do Protege sedan clear headlight covers fit on a P5 housing?
I'm installing P5 headlights in my sedan. The P5 clear covers have a lot of road ware. My thought was to swap the P5 clear covers with my sedan covers which are in better condition. Does anyone know if the clear covers are interchangeable?

hey bro, there both exactly the same. i inter changed mine and if you want to go thru the hassle of take-off/bake/swap/bake/install you can try wet sanding with 400-600-1000-2000-rubbing compond- polishing compond-then hopefully if you have a HIGH SPEED buffer then buff the heck out of it. i polished out a deep scratch and the only way u could tell is by touching headlight or distortion in chrome while lookin thru... good luck

I've seen these headlight cleaning kits at places like fred meyers and walmart before, it's a 2 step process for this one product I can remember seeing, but it removes hella dirt and makes the plastic shiny like new again, under 10 dollars - might wanna check this out before you go thru all the work of swapping
here this is a similar product to what i've seen
http://www.amazon.com/Permatex-Headlight-Lens-Restoration-Kit/dp/B000ALJSVQ/sr=11-1/qid=1165022918/ref=sr_11_1/002-0009706-4281652
Thanks - I really don’t want to swap them so buffing, spending a little time on them, might be the best option.
Again thanks for all the info - Nice to know that if worse comes to worse the swap will work.
