Just brought a M5, traded my P5 (sad day when I did that). But need a bigger car and M5 fits for what I need. Anyway, I'm looking at what to do with the M5, so CAI I already know what to use. But looking for headers and exhaust, would the Mazda3 h/e would fit on to the M5?? Being that they are in the same chassis and engine.

Just about everyone I know is using the M3 mods as a blueprint for what to do under the hoods of their M5's...The only thing to really keep in mind is whether or not you have an automatic or manual...The M5 auto is only a 4 speed while the M3 has a 5 speed, and the M5's auto produces a bit more torque...

Other than that have fun and be sure to post some pics as those mods come along!!! :D

I thought the Mazda 3 also comes in a 4 speed? or is that only the 2.0l?

Yes this is true thanks for pointing that out...Base model 3's have a 4spd auto as well, the other trim levels have the extra gear :)

I found a few options for short ram intakes. I found one option for what they called a true CAI and also a complete catback exhaust. I personally don't likethe tip.

You can find a few options for the 5 through srmotorsports thought hey are on the high end price wise.
