I bought a 2007 mazdaspeed 3 sport, Sticker said I should be getting a 6 disc cd changer with 7 bose speakers, On the way back home from buying it we realized we didn't have them. The dealer said they'd work on it. Come to find out the Sport dosn't offer them but since the sticker said we should have them it looks like mazda is going to give them to me.
My question is where does the 7th speaker go and is my car wired for this headunit and extra speaker?

i think taht all of the mazda headunits are capable of holding a changer (at least my sisters '06 is... it has the buttons even tho they do nothing)
the 7th speaker is the subwoofer and it mounts under the passenger seat

If the dealer goes to install the Bose system then it will require replacing pretty much everything as Bose uses proprietary equipment.
Like jbiird said any Mz3 can have the changer module added to it, and they all have the buttons already there. And yes the bose's sub goes under the passenger seat (front).
If the dealer says they'll try to make it right for you then I'd just get them to give you a 6CD/Mp3 player and tell them not to worry about the subs/speakers/bose portion of it. Then just replace the speakers yourself with something better.

For the price you pay...no they don't. You can get sooo much more for your money if you purchase equivalently priced aftermarket gear.

ALL the stickers both from GT and Sport models have the 6-disc and Bose 7 speaker system listed
Only the GT comes with those options
Hopefully you can snake it from them, but to install BOSE system on a car would take a day or six for a dealership

Yeh that was on my sticker aswell....... From what Ive been told everything in the car far as audio would have to be replaced. As for the sticker I emailed Mazda Corp about the misprint and they said they would get back to me, Well I emailed again asking what was going on, "Heather" told me she was talking to her superiors about the problem and it was brought to Mazdas attention......she said no need for me to keep asking about it "squeaky wheel gets the grease", that they would get back to me. Its been about a month now and I havent heard anything back. My dealer called me and said that Mazda sent the correct Sticker without premium sound for the car if they still had it, and a written apalogy. Like they would still have it....come on Mazda... Their not getting back to me, Im going to write them again and see the results. I know that the sport didnt come with it, but my sales man told me about it, and mentioned it as an additional feature, and when I got home and tried to put more than 1 disc in it didnt work "go figure" so thats when this began, I went back to the dealer and they couldnt even tell until further examination...............Long story short did you contact mazda about yours? I feel we should be compansated, I would have liked the Bose upgrade.

The sports cd player dosent have Rca outputs, I dont think the Bose will have a Rca output. BUT You could pick up a line output converter from Bestbuys install shop for $26, or somewhere online for $20. What you do with that is splice two speaker lines behind the headunit, front or rear, and then it converts it to the Rcas outputs on the device. (But if the bose has an external amp then you could take a different route, of which Im not sure enough of to tell you). As for the remote wire I spliced the ignition wire for the stock headunit, it turns the amp on fine but for some reason after about 5mins the fuse pops. Regular 3 owners were having no problem with this, so I dont know why my MS3 is...So I disconnected it and am working on a different ignition point. The Quality is actually pretty good though, I have a Arc Audio 5150 5channel to power my components and sub and I dont get any feedback.

Right on the nose. Bose is generally J U N K. Again for the money you can get WAY better.
Try this, go to a best buy and pull apart one of those plastic little cubes. What a joke, crappy little drivers packed with fiberglass...and you pay top dollar. Junk.
Bose Blows.

But what does the stock LCD readout look like with it closed? That's a big concern... I want to know what I'll lose from that display when I replace the stereo.
and what dash adapter kit is that?

i stil have the a/c display only thing lost was the mileage, clock, and traack number and stuff( mine has track number and clock so only loss was the millage but i have a gauge for that i guess.
doesnt really matter cuz my tv is always open....i had the same concern but u jsut plug in the cord and the ac works. you jsut have to mount it . i had to cut some of my dash kit to mount the display screen

I'm not a big fan of Bose, and I know in the past Bose factory systems have been a huge cockblock for audiophiles because of the proprietary equipment you speak of. Does anybody know if this is the case in the MS3 GT? Basically, will changing out the head unit be a royal pain or will it be plug and play like a non-Bose system would be?
Also, I'd love to install an in-dash DVD player in my car at some point, but I'm not a big fan of the flip up screens. Does the 3 have any kits available to convert that large waste of dash space into a double din opening?

That is your source for those questions. Call them it is free to call and ask for the kit to convert your dash.

wasnt big pain, i had my dvd player installed on my mazda 3 04 by circuit city and they had the wiring harness for it, all i did for the speed was unplug the stock....plug in the new along with the dash kit...took me mroe time taking apart than puttin radio in ....

Where did you buy that dash kit? I see there's one offered at Crutchfield, the one you posted pics of looks a little different. Looks like the plastic matches up pretty well with the rest of the interior?

bose speakers rock however.
The problem with Bose is you are throwing darts.... the "Bose" upgraded system on the C6 corvette plain SUCKS.... you ready for this: paper cone speakers with dweeeblers on the front, paper speakers on the rear cargo area with MONO hookups..... self powered subs on the doors (ok those are decent) - and a center dashboard mounted speaker that does who knows what...the rear mono really bugs me specially since they ran separate wires to each speaker... that is one reason I didnt upgrade to touring on the MS3... refuse to pay for a bose system that can be stellar or crappy depending on how much signal processing they decided to throw onto the head unit....

Sorry. Wrong. Nothing Bose makes for car audio or home audio is worth anything. Its all overhyped BS. Their noise cancelling headphones may be alright, but even those you can find cheaper with other brands and get the same quality. Friends don't let friends buy Bose.
