Ok, call me nuts but I hated opening up the center console and pulling out my garage door opener every time I got home. Well I hooked up a bypass switch to my door opener. Put the opener in the glove box, ran a wire out the glove box underneath the center console and mounted the switch in the center console. If you have questions PM me.See pics below.....................http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v452/benzo_tek/DSCF0115.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v452/benzo_tek/DSCF0117.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v452/benzo_tek/DSCF0120.jpg

Nice, I just leave my opener on my visor though, because it wont work unless its got a good view of the garage window, I might just need a better battery though.

I have a old style as you can see. With it in the glove box it works just fine.

I saw someone on a Hyundai forum that did something similar, and I've been trying to decide if I want to do the same thing in my 3..... or my wife's Elantra for that matter.

Did you just solder onto the back of the board in the remote?

YUP, Very simple to do. I made sure that for whatever reason I could take the remote out of the car. My girlfriend likes the idea so I might do it to hers too.
