So I was autocrossing today. New tires, and I hadn't figured out the right pressure yet, so I was the Amazing Gripless Wonder. Nevertheless, I had some time between runs, and decided to get creative with Painter's Tape. So, here's my new STi.

I wrote, in Sharpie Marker, "Hood Scoop". I also had a painter's tape label on the wing saying "Big STi Wing".

Depends entirely on the tire. I used to run Goodyear Eagle F1s, and good pressure was high, around 50 psi. Much lower and you'd be rolling on to the sidewall. I have Hankook Ventus Sport K101s now, and I started with them at 50. I slid all over the place. I think I gradually bled the tires down to 44 psi, and could have gone lower.
If you're lucky enough to have good sticky tires (Kuhmo Ecstas, Hoosiers), you should probably run them high, maybe around 55 psi to begin with.

For autocross, I'd probably run them around 45 psi in the front and 35-40 in the rear. That will give you pretty good grip all around (as good as you'll get from those Toyos).
Put a dot of white shoe polish on each tire where the tread meets the sidewall before you start a run. That will show you how much you are rolling on to your sidewall. If there is shoe polish left on the tread after a hard run, you could deflate to get more traction. If the shoe polish is worn on the sidewall, you should inflate, because you don't want to be rolling on the sidewall (it hurts the tire.

^^ that is what happened to my Goodear Eagle F1s because of too much sidewall damage. Of course, that's horribly dangerous to drive on, which is why I ran this event on the new tires.
Of course, for street use, 32-38 psi all around is pretty good.

You might be running your azenis so low that the tread buckles through turns, thus greatly reducing your contact patch. You might get better results during an autocross around 40 psi, at least.

Something huge on the back of a Viper.
The width of your tire depends entirely on what what car you're running and in what class. If you're running the MSP in stock class (D Stock), you have to run a 7" wide wheel with an offset no more than .25" +- the current offset (55mm) (basically between 50 and 60 mm). The tire has to fit on this wheel without rubbing the inside or outside of the wheel well, and you can't flare the wheel well any.
Basically, the best you can safely run is 225 mm wide tire. I run 225-45-17 tires.
There are a couple other random rules, all of which can be found here. (http://www.moutons.org/sccasolo/Rules/stock.html#s133) If you're running street tires (like me), most don't apply to you.

Oh yeah. I can totally feel the the boxer engine torquing side to side when I rev it. The newfound all-wheel drive probably shaved a second off my times.
