funny - when I called back in '03, Mazda told me I was 729 - now I look at this spreadsheet and I'm 1406 - glad I didn't go out and get a personalized license plate "MSP-726" like I originally planned.
But, I could see how they might get them confused - my vin ends in 41377, while #729 ends in 43772 - oh well!

i went to the Mazdausa website FAQ section and then back to the production number list... for some crazy reason (silly me for assuming this), i thought the VINs on the list would be in NUMERICAL ORDER. Regardless....

I think they are just out of order. They r in Prod order not Vin. Its funny how they arent lined up together, you would think if #########5534 is say 687 then 5535 would be 688. <-- just an example!

1. How did you get an MSP into Europe?
2. How do the folks on the Auto Routes react when you breeze by them?
Pretty sure Mazdaspeed2oo3.5 just 'drove' yours there right? I mean, you didn't go over there that long ago. I assume they flew them in a plane unless there is some magical bridge that connects the US to Europe.
I know I am a jackass but seriously how else would you get a car from the US into Europe?
I suppose you could be asking, how did you get Europe to allow US vehicles to operate in Europe?

One way to ship US spec cars would be by ship to either Bremehaven, Germany or the port in Rotterdam, Netherlands. This method is normally used by folks serving in the Armed Forces who get stationed in Europe...

once its physically there, US crash and emission specs are stiffer than anywhere else, so the only issues as far as passing safety inspections are lighting...
actually a lot easier than doing the reverse, mostly due to US laws.

Well it was easy for me, Since I´am a Spanish Citizen, when you are a Spanish Citizen and you live and work outside Spain or european Union, after a year and 1 day you can bring with you all of your personal belongings back to spain and you don´t have to Pay any taxes or fees, any customs inspections or anything, you don´t need to legalize your vehicles, they legalize it the way they come from US, i brought all of my stuff from USA inside 2 40 Foot Containers in a ship. I just paid 440 Euros to get my car registered and my Spanish Euro License Plates and that´s it.. and ofcourse the fee the shipping company charged you to bring your containers. this is a Benefit from being a Spanish Citizen and for living and working ouside Spain for a period of time of 1 year and 1 day..

pinky & Mazdaspeed2oo35?, 's for you guys:
1. How did you get an MSP into Europe?
2. How do the folks on the Auto Routes react when you breeze by them?
It's 03 version not 03.5
Ex-user when come back to poland in 2005 and he takes this car with him. He ship MSP in Newark and take back in Gdynia Poland. He drive MSP to last summer when he bought MS6, and I buy it from him. Mechanicaly car is in good condition regular serivced in Mazda Service in Warsaw.
Hmm how they react, they are very suppriced becouse in EU most powerfull engine in sedna is 1.8 fs 115hp, or in 323Familia/Protege 2.0 FS 131hp.

Well i don't know from where you get the Idea European cars are slower.. i can tell you from a fact, what we all get in US is shit... Look at the Ford Focus SVT and look at the Ford Focus RS or ST... a hell of a difference in design, engineering and style..
Ford Escort GT, or Ford Escort RS Turbo or RS Cosworth... cars in here in Europe have better style and they look lot better than lots of US models..
I can start naming you cars from here that will eat alive most of the sport compact cars there in US...
Also is not about going fast. is also about how you look, how you brake and how you handle in curves....
Better example SRT-4's... they look like crap, brake like crap and handle like crap. and look cheap in the interior. all they got is a powerful Stock Engine to go in a straight line period..
pinky
10-08-2008, 02:38 PM
Good example also is Renault Clio Williams, VW Golf/Rabbit Gti, Opel Astra GSI all this cars have great performane 2.0 liter engine n/a over 150 bhp, and everyone have FIA licence for racing. But europe is now adjust on diesel engines, most powerfull diesel in poland have stroked 1.9 to 2.1 lupo 4x4 having over 433,6HP/786,5NM making high 10 on quatermile. For those who don't know how Lupo looks:

I hate SRT-4's with a passion cause everyone I see driving immediately thinks they are driving God's gift to automobile enthusiasts (sp.)
I would love to have a Renault Clio. I don't know if they all are RWD/Midengine but I'd want that version. OMG they are sick. That's why Ford built 7 Ford Shoguns (basically Ford Festiva but midengine RWD).
Point made guys. I guess I'll just continue to dominate compact sport sedans through the curves!

Older version are FWD, but ther was Clio V6 with middle engine RWD and they are even in europe wery rare.

Yeah, the V6 version... so hot! I guess I just like cars that most people (obviously not those I try to associate myself with) that are deemed "ugly." Why? Because when you spank the competition in them, you get to hear the fun excuses like "Well at least I drive a insert generic car slightly tuned and not that ugly piece, later!" Then when they bolt off, you turn right around and spank them again just out of spite.

Might also be a good idea to keep it so you have another dd if you like to do maintenance yourself. If you run into problems and don't have another vehicle, you could be forced to take it to a shop, which could be costly. I sold my honda thinking an 03 mazda with low miles wouldn't have many problems, and I shouldn't need another vehicle......boy was I wrong. LOL.

I actually found the guy that had mine on cardomain. He had some shitty tails in it with lame neons under. When I got it she was back to completely stock couldn't tell anything was done. I've been trying to contact him but he doesn't reply. I was hoping to see what else he might have done. I'm hoping to find out it's already forged with a Welded LSD. LOL

I might try to browse cardomain. I'd hate to see what I'll find. Considering that my engine cover was missing, the steering wheel looks like crap (I think that might just be poor design), and 3 of 4 center caps are cracked. Must've drove the shit outta this Spicy before me. She's run fairly well with the exception of the ever constant CEL.

I got it Jan 20th, and it had about 87,500. Car was originally sold in St. Louis, bounced around there for a few years, got repoed and ended up on the auction block. A dealership on the Kansas side of KC that specializes in hot cars (not always the ones in the best shape) ended up with it. I found it on the back lot, already in the process of being sold, did my research that night, and snagged it the next day (not knowing it was #12). It was only when I found this board when I found out what I really had. It wasn't kept the cleanest, but is in good shape, with no damage anywhere minus the normal dents, dings, and rock chips that come with a 6 year old car.

It's all good for us with MSP's. Parts are not that hard to come by being as there are many silmilar parts used between the MSP/P5/ES. Anything turbo related is the only differences really. Even the body panels are similar (with the exception of the rear bumper stuff...I believe).

-FMIC
-03.5 front lip
-03 rear lip
-03 cat-back
-03.5 RH's

-Better bucket seats
-Steering wheel that isn't painted.

-FMIC - My FMIC kit is costing me like $220
-03.5 front lip - agreed
-03 rear lip - I like the 03.5 better, and the 03 was reused from the MP3
-03 cat-back - again, I prefer the 03.5
-03.5 RH's - I don't think they look right on some of the colors... 03 or 03.5
-03.5 Wing - Agreed, but like an inch shorter..
-Better bucket seats - OH HELL YES.
-Steering wheel that isn't painted. - um.. yeah...
BUT these are all opportunities to upgrade... and modify to make the "perfect" MSP... not that such a thing exists. lol lets not lie, these cars are flawed. but half the time I feel like thats why we love em!
