Hi all, This morning when I was about to get off the highway, the seat belt sign and the passenger airbag sign suddenly went on! My seatbelt was fastened and nothing had been done. Then I released the seatbelt and re-fasten it, the sign then went off! Weird!
Anybody had the same experience as mine? I've had the CX-7 (Sport, FWD) for 12 days (bought on 11/4). Thanks!

what package(s) did you have in the front passenger seat?

The only thing that I had is the 8-way driver power seat, nothing else at all.
Wondering what is going on with this light on. Thanks!

If you have something in the front seat weighing under 66 pounds, the system will not deploy the passenger airbag, with the assumption that it may be a child carseat. The airbag deactivation light will illuminate to advise the driver that the airbag will not deploy in the event of a crash or rollover.
I've had camera equipment set the notification off. Heavy grocery bags will do the same.

Any other activation is cause for a dealer check.

It goes-on for me if I puck-up a gallon of milk and a couple of other items at the store and place them on the seat on the ride home. Annoying, but I understand why it's there.

Mmh, yes, I did have my laptop and some other stuff sitting in the front seat. That might be the caues of it!
New technologies come into our life too fast!(shocked) I think I need more study to make myself used to it!(rtfm)
Thanks!

Hint ~ I think the seatbelt minder goes off as well. Just pull it across and buckle it before putting anything in the seat.

Yes, the seatbelt sign did go off. It is a good hint. I'll try that next time if I have something to put in the front seat. Thanks!
