Well guys, I've got a cat-back already and want to complete my exhaust with something easier then a turboback. Should I go catless downpipe or midpipe?

i would grab a midpipe with one high flow cat. you can still probably pass emissions. and not stink up everything.

I have a MAM catless mid-pipe. I love it. Its only 4 bolts and it already has the second O2 sensor bung. Install took only a few mins, and the gains were great. I am sure that you can pick one up for less than 100 bucks. I would reccomend this to anyone.

Any difference in power between the two?

Very slim enough to not even notice. i'm talking prob a few hp if that. there have been dynos done by magazines and online of whether one or the other is better. dynos show like 1-2hp difference. so it depends on if you need those precious hp. if it was like 15hp or 20hp difference, then yeah, obviously get the better one. but there isn't much diff. exhaust sound will prob be a bit different.

i have Vibrant's 3" exhaust and recently took the high flow out of the equation. I would say there is a sound change for sure, and to me it seemed to have more power, whether it was 1-2 like Chopstick said or more like 5-6 I can't say for sure, but I could feel the difference and they say that you can't really physically notice a change in hp til it is around a 5 hp change. can i prove it, nah i can't, just syaing my opinion. I haven't dynoed because I am working to finnish my ems and don't want to throw the money at a dyno just for that then redyno after ems. but the less restrictive a turboed exhaust is then the more power can be created to a point of course. The turbo is creating its own backpressure, that's the main reason we see gains from removing the cats, just getting that exhaust out as quick as possible.
