i was wondering if i have to cool down the turbo if im just running into a quicky mart or something similar. If it's just a couple minute stop, do i have to let the turbo cool down? or is it ok to just shut it off then start it up a couple minutes later, thank for any input.

Well you would have to cool down the turbo if you were just boosting and then immediately stopping. But, if you were not boosting then you shouldn't have any problems. Chances are if you were pulling into a parking lot you wernt boosting for atleast 30 seconds or so. In that case it would be fine to just off the car.

Just buy a turbo timer.they are so cheap.cheaper than replacing a turbo

umm NO, just dont boost prior to turning the car off. TT's are a waste, if you cant go 30 seconds without boosting, you have a serious problem and should buy a NA car.

Yes,
Turbo Timers were invented for "Quick Mart" types like you.. :)

get a turbo timer. my turbo timer is usually set to 40 seconds cool down. if i'm going into a store quickly or to an atm that has no drive thru, then i'll just press it a few times and it'll jump up to 2 or 3 minutes. then it doesn't even turn off the engine. put my key back in ( don't crank it! ) and when i release my hand brake, the turbo timer resets back to my default 40 secs.

honestly that's what i do.. i live right by the highway entrance/exit so when i come home i got only a couple blocks before hittin the driveway so right after a hard run on the highway i usually sit and listen to the stereo for a couple more seconds then shut it off..

I can hardly stand sitting in my car for an extra 30 seconds. I actually do a count down.

sure but i guess it's more convenient having the turbo timer doing it for you. i have stuff to do, i can't be bothered by sitting in the car waiting.

I know while waiting for those 30 secs or so.. They feel like forever.. Anyways, where could I get a specific harness for a turbo timer for my msp? Does anyone even make one?

i was under the impression that our turbo has an oil and water cooled bearing system. doesnt that mean its not that big of a deal to just shut the car off without waiting?

Well as soon as you shut off, that coolant and oil stops flowing.

Only in a perfect world.
It's also better for the engine to get a TT.
It will give the time to get rid of any hotspots in the engine before shutting the water pump down..
