It blends well better some of the others I have seen, but I like my stock antenna. It reminds of a R/C car kinda, but I must admit it is quite huge.

hey,

I hacked up my stock one and cut it down to roughly the same length. It did not effect the signal strength in the slightest bit.

sorry it's dirty. Canadian winters are very salty! lol As somebody said, it did not affect reception one bit. of course you can cut it even shorter, you just have to find a bigger rubber cap to cap it.

I got a shorty antenna off ebay. It was cheap, but the radio reception suffers. I hardly ever use the radio, though, so I don't care much. Those who do, just know the ones on ebay aren't that great.

Those who do, just know the ones on ebay aren't that great.Depends on whether you roll in metro or small town-to-rural areas & signal strength of the radio stations. I have the 2.5" one & there is no difference in in-town reception & I still pull in stuff on the road just as good. Also the surrounding terrain will have impact. I live where is mostly flat so that makes a difference too.

I've got it on my car, the reception with it is the lose. For the record, I have the factory stereo.

Anyway, I listen to the radio once in a blue moon so I don't care that much. It is annoying the few times I do listen to the radio; however.

oh lol. you should specify these things as to not look like a dumbass :P and no you cant run a wire through there, its just a screw hole. but if you find a way to pull the assebly off the car and run a wire through the hole, im sure many other members would be interested. you should work on that!

i cut my stock antenna down to the stub and put a rubber cap from a rca input cable on the end. signal sucks, but thats what i have 3 days worth of music on my ipod for. then i ran an aux rca cable to the aux input behind my head unit to hook my ipod directly up to the cd player. when im done with the wire, i hide it in the glovebox.

for everyone still looking for a short antenna, i want to point your attention to this site:

http://www.carccessory.com/product.asp?key=Stubby_Short_Antenna_

The plain black one (http://www.carccessory.com/detail2.asp?key=Stubby_Short_Antenna_O), 2.55 inches is on this site for 5.99 plus 5 shipping. The reception is 3 out of 5, and at that price I'll take it. I dont listen to the radio all that much, and at 10.99 shipped I think it is a great deal. I used paypal beacuse I am not familiar with the site, but if you still want a stubby antenna you should check out that site, they have other type of stubbys as well!!!

Keep us posted on quality, and also on install. I'm very interested by the looks of that unit. Although it's not as cheap as you said. You have to purchase the base and then the antenna it looks like. Without shipping it looks to be about $20.
