Pfff. The forester is far superior.. It is bigger, and heavier, and higher off the ground. It is great for a body shot.

The other plus side is that if you want to run down your target on a dirt road, the forester has you covered.

i think it is. i havent beaten it yet. it is tough getting use to driving with the shoulder buttons. driving is much harder than the previous games. drifting around corners doesnt work well. however, the gun play is much improved. you can take cover and blind fire quite accurately if you know what you are doing.

i do miss the customization and planes that san andreas had to offer. GTA IV goes back to GTA III in some ways.

I have never beat any of the GTA's. The game gets so busy and complicated to the point its never fun to pick up the sticks and just mess around for a little bit.

I used to love running from cops in San Andreas. I'd constantly be on the run in locked areas and would waste an hour just hauling ass lol.

So my reactions to NFS Shift is, don't buy it.

It's not "simulator" at all, it's "arcade-gone-difficult". Typical erratic handling, no precision whatsoever. You get points for absolutely everything you do and you make money hand over fist, but the faster you get to go, the more difficult it is to drive.

If you want a real racing game, wait till GT5..

Depends on what you like to play. I would suggest going to the PS3 section of Gamespot's site. From the main PS3 page, you can go all the way to the bottom and select "Top Rated". Once in that new page, you can select different time frames. Six months, twelve months, this year, all time, etc. It'll show you quickly what games have ranked well.

I picked up COD Modern Warfare. I also downloaded a few demos to try out. I was surprised how much fun LBP was. The Demo was HUGE compared to most. I'm not sure how long I would enjoy it though... but the wife might like it.

Any thoughts on non-Sony controllers? I'm not a huge fan of the classic PS controller shape. I get a cramp in my right hand from it after about an hour.

i think he meant 2 different ps network users logged in on the same ps3... so you dont need a second one there to play with a friend and keep stats.

3D works by color shifting things. If you made special goggles to cut out certain wavelengths, you could make it work, but you'd lose about half the color spectrum because each person would be using two separate parts of the spectrum. Not enough of a market to develop something like that either, because you'd also be halving the performance of the box by processing to different game sessions.

So a recent update completely screwed my save game for Uncharted. It locks up at the same point, every time. In the Heading Up River level when you're going up some rapids, it just locks the system entirely. I downloaded 3 different save games from a website and tried to load a save point past that level with no luck. So now I can't advance in the game any further until a patch comes out or something. Apparently a lot of people are having this same trouble on different parts of the game. Infuriating!

So I played 3 games in the last 5 days, Resistance1, Mirrors Edge, and Uncharted 1. Resistance was decently long, but only a decent game. I have decided the sixaxis controller is crap for FPS games. Huge deadzone on the analog sticks, and the wireless controllers (both of mine) occasionally forget that I'm pressing buttons? Mirror's Edge was a cool fun concept with some failed technicals, and Uncharted was great from beginning to end.

I've only completed one transaction through Amazon successfully. Bought a Christmas gift in 2008 for my mother that was "in stock" and it took something like 3 weeks for shipment.

In addition, I tried to buy a book from them recently only to have them write back and say "Well, are you sure you want that? We know the image of the book and the description say one thing, but it's not that book, it's this completely different book". Yes, I'm paraphrasing.

Lastly, I attempted to buy a halloween costume from them within the last two weeks and despite saying that there was a $10 discount on those costumes, it wasn't available through that particular vendor. The details of the deal basically said "If this link shows up on the item you are ordering, it is eligible for the discount". What finally made me cancel my order is the fact that the color they advertised as in stock wasn't.

Anyone here playing MAG Beta?

I just got it (by preordering at GameStop) this past weekend. For a beta I am very impressed! At first it kind of reminded me of Socom or BF2, but the gameplay is much better (more like COD but not as fast paced). For now I have played on maps with around 180 people and the map is huge, I can only imagine how it will be with 256 players. The graphics are good, not great, but Im sure they will fix it up before the actual game release. I like how they split the teams up into platoons and squads, and you really do need to work as a team in order to win since there are so many places to attack and defend on the map. If anyone is interested in buying the game once it comes out, or preordering, I definitely recommend it.

I'm playing it on PC, so it's hard to compare. I am playing it on max settings, so it looks awesome. But, it's not completely top-tier in visuals. You don't really notice, though, because the story, characters, and game play are near perfection. The banter between characters actually make me laugh out loud. So many possible starting stories too (the "origins"). Definitely a purchase!

I got an xbox elite back in feb of 08 and loved it but after getting the red rings, expiring xbox live account, and no decent games for months, I sold it back in June or so of this year.

Now, after totally missing COD, and seeing the new COD coming out, I started to save up to buy another system. At first I was gonna go back to xbox cause the ps3 and xbox elite were the same price, but after comparing, the ps3 is actually cheaper. With the xbox 360, you have to buy a member ship(1yr = $60) and a wireless adpater($100) on top of the xbox AND the COD: MW2. Thats gonna hit right around $550 with tax. But the PS3 has free membership, built in wifi, and much more included.

So, I'm happy to say, I will be purchasing my new PS3 with COD:MW2 this Friday :D

The reliability of the 360 has been abysmal (microsoft yay!), no bluray support, $$$ to play online or add anything onto the games, I loathe the xbox controller, and you can't upgrade the hard drive as easily as you can on the ps3.

I'm 100% satisfied with my ps3, and will never touch an xbox.. ever.

i think the ps3 controller is the most symmetrical and ergonomic controller out there. it is basically the same thing throughout all ps generations. the crapbox controller makes no sense to me. basically, playstation got it right, and all other consoles had to find something else.

Since when are game addons free for the PS3? Downloading content in the way of videos or demos takes a long time. I usually just queue up several and give up on even playing them until the next day. Then of course after you download the demo you have to install it, which takes more time. Not to mention having to "install" disc games onto the hard drive before you can even play them. WTF Sony!?

PS3 is in 3rd place for good reason.

I just bought mw2 a couple days ago, and my roomate beat it yesterday. I have only played the first 3 levels since I dont have more than an hour or two of free time daily. But I can see how someone would say its short. I am enjoying it on hardened though, have to pop those shots off quickly and get back in cover. I play that one level in the city
( favela I think) like its halo though, my buddy hates that. I grenade here, two head shots there, another grenade, sprint up to a guy pop a couple shots, knife the guy next to him then get to some cover, cuz health is low. lol.

They are about even in my book, I have 27 ps3 games and 24 360 games, some are exclusives to each system but a lot of them arent. I enjoy both and play the shit out of both.

I was totally getting rocked in CODMW2 in that one map where it's a salt mine or some shit like that. The guy was in the very middle, sniping everyone like crazy. And no matter what I did, I couldn't creep up on him because he had that stupid heartbeat sensor thing. What a joke!

Weapon of choice so far is: M4A1 with silencer and holographic scope bling. Or, a UMP45/AA12 combo. Great for sweeping rooms and mid-range distance.

I'll usually go with anything silenced, and for perks scrambler, cool blooded and use the tactical insertion. I like to get behind the lines and put down a tactical insertion so when I die respawn right behind them again. Have any of you used or had the game end with the tactical nuke yet? This guy yesterday got it three games in a row, mostly because he would build up to get a chopper or ac130!

I love the thermal with the Intervention, when I got Bling, I used the silencer too but it hurt the damage a lot. I have to shoot ppl 2 sometimes 3 times to kill them and you only get 15 rounds so I took the silencer off.

Now when I shoot, I stick out but at least I get one shot kills. lol. I wanna try out the WA2000 to see if its any better.

I got a 29.6, 105% accuracy shaves about 5 secs off of my time. I have seen faster, my roomate can do it in like 27 with a bunch of 2 targets being hit by the same bullet, he gets two lined up before you go inside, lines up the two when you are inside( the ones on the right), then lines up the four upstairs in two shots, drops down and gets two ( directly in front and one on the left) then he gets the last two lined up before he sprints to the finish. I dont think he reloads but he uses the m9 and I cant remember what rifle he uses, but its a smaller one with the holographic sight.

i like using the thermal for that map with the tall grass. other than that i wont use the thermal scope. My main weapons are the m16 with heartbeat sensor and red dot sight, ump45 with fmj and holographic sights. ( trying to unlock extended mag for these two) . That vid doesn't look to bad, but to me the only thing that looks better are the vehicles and how they move, and the building explosion. Thats badass. But everything else looks inferior to COD.

Thats the one thing that always bothered me, you can blow up cars and ppl but the buildings, walls and land were made of the strongest material known to man. I know to make these things enabled to be altered would make the level a lot more complex, but it'd still be cool. lol

The controls are actually very close to COD. In BFBC2, enviroments deteriorate. You can shoot at cement slabs and they will break apart, everything is a lot more realistic. The only downside currently is, activity is slower than COD. You move and manuever a lot less quickly. Which isn't bad, just a preference. I got used to BFBC real fast and played it for over a year.

I have a launch 60 gig. Not quite sure of what the problem is really... I found of couple article talking about the heat sinks, I refloated them and it would work for a couple of days then die again, swapped power supplies with a friend of mine and his 60 gig and didn't take care of the issue. So I called Sony and they sent me a box to ship it back.

UPS just stopped by with my new to me PS3. I will get home and hook it up, it cost me $150.00 to send my old system back and they just swapped it with another 60 gig. The serial numbers are different. It took about a week, I received the box from Sony on 12/10, reshipped the box back on 12/10, received my new system today. After I get all of the updates installed I should be on for a little while tonight. I'll update you all if anything changes but as far as I'm concerned this has been a very pleasant experience, other than loosing the system which sucked monkey ba..s
