Nice. I would have chosen a color that stands out more though - like gold or something.

Does anyone know where/if I can buy custom calipers for the CX-7? I really don't have anywhere to do a job like that myself.

I think the original silver paint on them does a fine job with my black paint. I thought about painting mine, then changed my mind.

He may be starting an all black theme. If thats the case then a set of black rims and dark tint would look awesome.

i dono about black rims, but maybe gunmetal rims would look good.

OFF TOPIC (kind of) Since this is a thread about CX-7's I just had to post these.

My local dealership threw a set of 20's and a custom paint job on a CX-7.

what's the best brand of caliper paint to use?

I want something that I can do easily, like the ones you brush the paint instead of spraying it.

Besides, I don't want to do that job if it's gonna flake later on and look horrible

This is a lot easier than some folks make it out to be. I painted the calipers on my Miata with high-temp, "engine block" paint that came in a spray can, but I sprayed it into a small plastic cup (might want to wear gloves when you do this) and then brushed it on with a 1/4" artist's brush. Don't buy the "caliper paint kits"--way over-priced. Don't bother dissassembling the caliper--take the wheel off, clean the caliper with brake cleaner, and paint what you can see. Don't get paint on the rotor! Looks great and hasn't flaked in over three years of sometimes-intense use (on the Tail of the Dragon--318 curves in 11 miles).

yeah, i've read that a lot of people used engine block paint on rims and calipers. im sure it works just as well but i used Dupli-Color Caliper Paint (picked it up from checker auto parts for $18). its a kit that comes with a paintbrush, spray on brake cleaner, and a mini can of caliper paint. the whole project took around an hour and a half, and i let it sit for about 20 minutes then went straight to a car wash and -- no chips!(cabpatch)

anyway, point is-- i'd recommend Dupli-Color Caliper Paint

I was always told from previous car forums that G2 was the best brake caliper paint.
