Sold the protege back in august, it was definatly a fun car. I worked all summer to get my Evo had maybe 4 days off the whole summer. I felt like shit by september but it was well worth it.

I think the MSP has more road feel to it and you definatly feel as though you can manuaver it faster. It wasnt until I had it up past 140 you can see the differnce. You really do feel like your going 80 mph I looked down and saw 143mph and I shit myself thought I was going much slower. Anyway I still love the MSP and if I had money I would have modded the piss out of it, it but i figured I was better off saving for this. I do miss the rareness of the MSP though. I see a lot of evo's and such around, not as much as I see STI'S though. For every 20 sti's I see maybe 5 evo's and I've only seen one other MSP lately.

oh and for anyone considering buying and EVO dont buy from a local dealer if your in New York, they wanted anywhere from 32,000 to 39,000! Just for the base IX like I have. I got it shipped from southcoast mitsu in california, shipping was $950 and took 13 days. Picked it up in Jersey, about 40 minutes away and it was a done deal. It was 28,500+950=29,450 for a brand new nine. Cant beat that in the New York area atleast.

If i can get one for 27-28 i may look into picking one up after i sell my car. I know the lots here in utah have 6-7 on them at least, all 2006 models... should be able to pick one up fairly cheap in the spring eh

True, I know the rs from southcoast is 26,500. Your in UTAH so shipping wouldnt be much. Make sure you get the Evo Ix with the mivec head and everything makes a huge differce. People are putting down in excess of 340 whp with tbe, flash,Mbc, and drop in air filter
For about $1200 your running high 11's low 12's its awesome!

Id learn before you buy and EVO i would imagine it would be a waste of a car with and auto tranny.

The next evo x will have paddle shifts but god nows how much that would be to replace with out a warrenty! It also wont have a 4g63

I just did a little resaerch, and we are flooded with them in utah, 21-25 evo ix's in the state, most of them are regular ix's, some are MRs and a couple RS's left. I'll wait it out til they're desperate to get rid of them. When is the evo X supposed to debut?

Cant beat that in the New York area atleast.south coast does have good prices and you don't have to haggle to get them, but you could have gotten that price closer than ca. most dealers probably would match south coast's price if you told them that is the other option you were considering, that's what i did with my car but i used fitzmall's price instead which at the time was below invoice. i still say support south coast because they support the evo community, just letting you know :)

that will never happen.
unless, of course, you live in japan

latest word is 2008 as a 2009 model, who knows what will change before then though

nice choice on the 9, i like the white. it was between that and blue for me, but i love my blue. i agree about the feel as well, but part of that is the difference between awd and fwd, you get used to the awd feel. when are you starting to mod? i waited like 8 months

Are there no taxes in NY? Or does that price already include price, tax, PDI, freight?

get a ix then the dealers still have a good amount left, the X isnt going to have a 4g63 the new engine isnt proven yet. I hope its just as good though hopefully they dont ruin the car.
