Alright, well its come that time where i need to look for a new car. My parents had given me a 01 saab 9-3 for bday when i was a junior in High School. That car is about to come off warranty, and theres no way I'm gonna pay for repairs on that car. Its seventy something to get the oil changed from the dealer!

So I'm pretty much on my own for this car, so i need it to be kinda cheap. The protege fits the bill perfectly, 11K-13K, turbo, jap(reliable) and so forth. So I'll probably be a regular poster here.

I built up the saab to be pretty fast, 270hp/310tq,so i know this is gonna be a major downgrade in power, BUT thats where the character of the MSP comes in-all the great little things tha tcome stock.

Does it really have tokico's stock? how is it "tuned" by racing beat? does the sparco shifter come with a "mazdaspeed" insert or a sparco one? Is the awesome stereo an option of does it come standard? I think this car has unbeilevable character, and I'm hoping that will make up for its lack of power.

the next car I'm looking at is the focus SVT, how does this stack up against it? its NA, but what about the overall feel of the car?

I see that you guys use the T25 turbo, thats the same thing that us saabs use. I actually have an upgraded t25 right now, its this one:

JSP big T28 Turbo upgrade

This is the T25 compressor & exhaust housings machined out to accept a T28 complete new center section this turbo will suport 340BHP – well within its efficiency range but does trade off a little bottom end power for a lot of mid & top end power. This is a direct bolt in like the JSP T25/28.

So basicly, if you guys have forged internals and can actually run upwards of 20 psi(which from the stock boost would be a BIG strectch), would this trubo bolt up?

This would take forever to spool up and not even be reaching its full potential, so I'm afraid it wont be worth it, what do you guys think?

I think thats about it. If theres anything about the MSP that you just flat out love, let me know!
