I entered pricing for the CX-9 into my price comparison site's database a few days ago, so it's now possible to see how it compares on an apples-to-apples basis.

For example, the site calculates that while the CX-9 lists for about $2,000 more than a Honda Pilot, adjusting for feature differences cuts the gap to about $600 for the base Pilot, and near zero for the other trims.

You'll also find that adjusting for feature differences makes the different CX-9 trims come out very close together. This isn't the case for every model. Since I don't adjust for wheel size, this means that the 20s on the GT aren't costing more than a couple hundred dollars..

The page will also show the most popular price comparisons, which will provide a sense of what other vehicles CX-9 shoppers are considering.

Though I designed the site for comparisons, it can also be used to price a single model.

Feature data for the CX-9 is still incomplete. If anyone thinks I've left something out, please let me know.

In case anyone's interested, pricing for the Saturn Outlook and GMC Acadia is now in the database.
