I've never been a huge fan of the current gen miatas styling. I've always found it too..... simple, lacking the stylish curves of the last gen model. However about 30 mins ago I was on my lunchbreak on my way to sheetz to pick up some grub for the wife and I and I saw this bright red MX-5 with what seemed like a VERY subtle aero kit. I don't know if this kit is offered from the mazda catlogue or if it was aftermarket but MY GOODNESS did that thing look amazing. I mean I did several doubletakes and was craning my neck for a better look. I mean this kit just set the car off BEAUTIFULLY! Does anyone know the kit of which I speak or does anyone have pics of sublt aero kits you have on your MX-5's?

Yea I'd like to see it also, because I feel the same way. The new MX5 looks good from the back but the front is just plan ass.

+1 for bright red Miatas! :D

Although I don't know what the "aero kit" is. Do you mean the side skirts and front air dam?

I can't remember if it had side skirts, but I saw for sure it had a front lip on it. I mean this was a REALLY subtle kit. No scoops or dips or cut-aways, bust a lip that matched with the stock front perfectly. It was gorgeous.

Probably the factory "Appearance Package."

Probably the factory "Appearance Package."

It's that was from the factory, it should come standard. The car looks silly without it.

I think thats exactly what it was. Man it makes the car looks so much more serious. I love it.

That is badass.

Thats what I said. Why would ANYONE buy an MX-5 without the appearance package? It makes it look at least 10X better.

Theres a kit out by Mazdaspeed that I actually like a lot... It may also be what you saw?

Are you guys serious about not liking the appearance package? To each his own I guess. I think it makes the car look so much better. Subtle but effective.

OMFG! Do you see the price tags for that shit!

The sideskirts look alright, but the front lip looks over-the-top. It's too obviously "stuck on", like you took a part that didn't quite fit and super glued it on. The bulge where it meets the car is just funny looking.

I vastly prefer the stock appearance.

Factory appearance package front lip looks like a Home Depot airdam to me. Blech.

This must mean that I, at the latest Drivers Ed weekend with PCA, was kicking Porsche butt with a Girly Hairdresser Car! Man I am good…(first)

That doesn't justify 1000s. I can get them painted for 200.
