cant get z919 outta my car!!!

has anyone had trouble taking out the factory kenwood z919 out of there mp3? i swear i've tried everything....i dont have the puller but i used some machine screws that fit but the the stupid thing wont budge!!! i have a new cd player coming tomorrow. (im taking the old one out cuz its possesed)(bang) (bang) (bang)

moved to msp audio forums (same radio i believe, but either way, not a 'normal' 3rd gen radio)

i was under the impression (dont quote me) that the radio had a nut in the back that had to be removed before you pull it out.
take out the glove box and see what you can find in the back of the radio...

Use Kenwood removal tools. Jiggle around until you push in the tabs and yank on it. There is no nut to remove on the back as far as I could see, but there is a bolt coming out of that back that sits against a metal piece behind it, but it's not attached to it.

You can also use butter knives if you don't have the Kenwood tools.

go to best buy real quick and tell them to remove it for you

they did it for me for free
it came out like butter,....
