"Turbo" decal?

I wonder why Mazda doesn't put a turbo badge on their CX-7's. Do they sell them for any of the other Mazda models?

Am I lame for thinking it would be kinda cool? I mean, it is a turbo right? :)

yeah it's a nice looking badge, though it doesn't mesh well with the brushed look the other MSP badges have.

My son works for Acura, and basically the turbo badge emblem is from the new 07' RDX. And he was able to special order one. He said it will look cooler, so he surprised me last week by putting it on my car and I guess it blends right in! Therefore, I recieved alot of compliments from everyone at work.

If you like I can get one shipped to you for your convenience around $18bucks. Or you can stop by your local Acura dealership and see if you can special order one yourself...

So... what solvent do any of you recommend for removing any grease, wax, soapy film, etc that is on the finish before applying the emblem.

When I used to letter & pinstripe (a zillion years ago) I used to use PrepSol to clean the area, but not gonna go out and buy a bottle of that to put on one badge. Any suggestions...?

When I was there the parts guy asked me if it was stolen. I told him no and then told him it wasn't even for a acura car. So my guess is that they keep them in stock because of that. I'll have to see if someone wants to jump in and tell me if there is something that I can use to keep my new mod from dissappearing. He said there was double sided tape on it, but that won't keep sticky fingers away.

There is an OEM badge for the Sport20 Familia (the Protege5 in Japan.. also available in sedan form, roughly equivalent to the styling of the Protege MP3). I think it just says "AWD"

edit: wait crap. I think it says "4WD" not "AWD", which makes sense as they had a manual transmission.

I know the Tribute had AWD badging, it would be the raised chrome lettering like your CX-7 OEM badges, dunno if the font/size would match. Head over to the dealership the next time you're there for a new gas cap (lol I couldn't resist) and check it out.

You will have to special order one @ an Acura dealer. They go for about 16-18 bucks, and i guess depending on where you live. Just dont get ripped off by the dealers for a small badge. I had pressured my son to get some badges for a few CX owners who wanted one here. My son is back full time in college, and now and just occasionaly works for Acura p/t. :)

Oh duh I just remembered -- on the newer tributes (the ones since they moved to Protege5-esque taillights with the two white circles) there is no badging on the rear other than MAZDA and TRIBUTE.. no LX/ES/AWD badging anymore.

Got mine yesterday from Acura for $14 and installed it last night which looks good now I'm thinking about the AWD from Nissan Murano and would like to find some nice GT and put those on both front fender if they fit. As for waxing around it....wax-on...wax-off lol!!

I'm with you. Too much chrome on the rear IMO. I wouldn't mind taking off the Mazda sign and the logo above the license plate. Can it be done and how does one fill in the holes if any.

I'm sort of mixed on whether to bother putting one on. Just remember that you are advertising that you have a turbo. If you get pulled over and are borderline on getting a ticket, the officer may notice the emblem and lean towards giving you the ticket. On the other hand it is small and may not get noticed.

i have to say, it sounds dumb, but i dont doubt that at all. im a young driver in a black blacked-out cx-7, shark antenna, and the acura turbo badge. you can always get yourself out of 15 over, i got a ticket for 10 over. i dont think the TURBO badge on the back helped..

It is dumb and not all members of law enforcement behave the same way, but you would be surprised at some of the lame things that persuade a cop to give you a ticket and some of the even lamer things people do to earn them..

This is being nit-pickey, but the CX-7 isn't 4WD - it's AWD. Bit of difference there.

As for the placement of the badge, I suppose it could go under either the Mazda badge or the CX-7 badge, right side or left side...

Just scanned the CX-7 drivers manual...Mazda seems to use both terms interchangably. The manual uses the term "4WD" in a couple titles to sections and when distinguishing the difference between 2WD and 4WD in certain tables. However, when it gets into protracted discussion about the operation of the vehicle, it uses the term AWD exclusively.

To each is own but I have no immediate desire to get a turbo decal. I know what I have under the hood and who cares anyway. I was almost gonna get a vannity plate CX7TURBO but after fighting the intial impulse I then decided what for? I haven't ruled out a vannity plate but I'm not sure I want anything CX7 theme based because then I might have to change plates if I decide to by something else. It isn't that expensive to get new tags but when I think of the yearly fees plus the cost of the tags it makes little sense. Guess that's why they call them vannity plates.

That TURBO decal is very much different from what most members here have. I'm sorry but it doesnt look stock cuz of the different font. Doesn't really fit with the CX7 badge.

Please, please, please do NOT put a BMW emblem on your car. I just saw a VW Jetta with an M3 emblem on it and I laughed for a good 20 minutes before I got to work. Come on?!!?!?! wtf?? Yes, it's German, but technically, it is NOT Bavarian.

I, for one, looked at the Porsche copy badges, but they were way too big, did not match font or thickness and looked like an Autozone add-on. I really like the Acura badge since it is the same thickness, a very close font and is very small. It did not scream "turbo" like the big badge, it stated it a little more subtly. Just, FYI, "the CX-7 has a turbo" instead of "TURBO CX-7 here !!!!"

My wife was able to buy an 07 cause of the $5k rebate. I liked the car so much, I bought an 08 with the Mazda S plan and got $2500 off. The car is so much fun to drive.

Tomorrow they're installing my Sirius. I'm looking to buy some DVD headrests but I'm afraid the large size may cause a blindspot over my left shoulder.

I saw an Acura today at work and spotted the Turbo emblem. I think it looks better on my car! They also placed the sh-awd emblem on the lower right side of the rear bumper. I didn't think it looked good.
