turbo selenoid ctrl valve what is it

Anybody could tell me what 'a the purpose of that selenoid valve connected to the waste gate with a vaccum hose. Is it a safety, is it another control, what is the result if you disconnect it, etc...

don't know what it is but it's SOLENOID...SO-LE-NOID...just drives me nuts when ppl pronounce it sell instead of sole...sorry for the rant

The solenoid is the factory boost controller. It's what allows for different boost levels at different rpms or gears. If you need a further explenation of how it works I will be glad to add more detail.
