Tonight I floored and maxed out my car @ 117mph or 119mph -- it was too close to the bar I couldn't really tell. But you could feel the cut-off take place. The engine runs strong up until that point and then all of a sudden it feels different and held back. The interesting thing is that the car was in 6th gear and then when I passed 110mph it downshifted to 5th gear to get more torque. Who else has maxed out their CX-7?

Yeah, flash the ECU. Too bad no one knows how to do it yet.

Have any aftermarket companies been able to flash the ECU from the MS3 or MS6 yet?

Nope, not yet. Soon hopefully.

With that DPI I'm not going to hold my breath. Hopefully Mazdaspeed will release an aftermarket ECU for the CX-7, MS3 and MS6 like Mopar has released staged kits for their SRT cars.

i don't think i'd want to go past the speed limiter in such a tall car. it's easy to lose control even if it is sporty and based on a great chassis. the center of gravity is still high, and the car itself weighs a good deal more
