did you have to swap them all or just replace the little LED Condoms?
Looks like a European3 now!? :)

I like that. But I think you should use some white to offset it some.

Lookin' good. Pretty much what commie at ************ did, though he didn't change his odo. LCD. I'd post a link for you to see his stuff, but I'm not allowed to. Also I don't think he ended up doing the AC controls.
Walkthrough?

Did you need to use resistors for the HVAC?

Nice to hear you like it.
First; sorry for my poor englisch.
So indeed it is a european model: the 1.6TD 110HP.
The screen says "donna" because that was the radiochannel (rds) it was on.
"Looks like the whole interior is drowned with blue... visibility at night is going to suck! and it looks ricey too." : It is just the camera i used: with the human eye it looks realy darkblue, visibility at night is almost the same as before.
"Did you need to use resistors for the HVAC?" : the HVAC is this the ac control? if it is : there are 2 ordinary bulbs inside that i changed to 2 5mm led's with a resistor. The rest "pressbuttons" are all smd led's.

How to do it???
Sorry, but step by step is difficult , because i wanted first to do the rpm-km/u-temp-fuel combo (don't know the right word) and nothing else. But after doing that, i felt the need to do also all the rest. (I mean all: the radiocontrols on the steeringwheel , the switchs for the headlight (up-down) , the switchs (7) for the windows. After that , like you can see in the pictures : the radio and the radio/ac/computer display (this was the most complicated to mod).
All i can suggest is : very small solder iron, lots of time, lots of smal led's.
For the rpm/km/u... combo i guess +- 20 led's SMD 1206 (3.2mm-1.6mm-1.1mm)
For the radio +-30 SMD1206 led's and 10 SMD PLCC3021 led's(3mm-2mm-1.4mm)these 3021led's are for the illumination effect when you turn the radio up-down.(i also changed the serie-resistors because the radio was not illuminated enough for me in comparing to the orther lights)
For the AC-combo +-10 SMD1206 led's and 2 ordinary 5mm led's (with resistors)
For the radio/ac/computer display 6 ordinary 5mm led's (very difficult to change them, you have to break some plastic parts and bend over the wires that go to the glass screen WITHOUT damage to the glass screen!)
Also some of the original plastics are covered with a orange film (like the 2control knobs for the ac / 2contol knobs for the radio and a plastic decoration on the radio(illumination effect if you press any button or up-down) , so all this orange film need to be removed, i did this by sanding it with a very fine sandingpaper.
If you still feel the need to do this mod: patience is the key and i bit of good luck.

That's awesome Marc! Must've taken A LOT of work-- it'd probably take me several weeks to finish the whole thing. How are your passenger's eyes while driving at night? It might just be the off-focus pics, but looking at it for a few seconds got me a little dizzy.
now it got me thinking: i wonder what color your dome lights are-- red? :)

I know , just looking to the pictures it looks like the blue fades out , this is because i had to hold the camera for 3sec completely steady , and as you can see: it is not possible just by holding it my hands.
So in reality the "white-blue" is really dark-blue (looks fine) , and the "fade-out" does not exist (all the text on the switches are pefectly like with the original illimination.

I have to ask: Did you determine it to be a Euro turbo-diesel just from the photos? If so, then I know why you are TheMAN. I can see the speedo is in kph, and Marc is posting from Belgium, so Euro is easy, but where's the turbo-diesel come from?

The RPM's only go up to 6000.

You're not solicitating any product, if you are providing helpful information then that is okay. It would be cool especially if it were photos to look at.

what i dont understand is why certain forum sites or names are ********* in asterisks... the site administration is really beginning to seem like Nazi Germany...

AH-HAH. I saw that, but was looking for a redline indicator I couldn't see because it was blocked by the steering wheel. I didn't even think to look at the max number.
Just another bone-head newb oversight. Everyday is a school day. Thanks.

There's a seperate rule about not advertising for non-sponsors.
Antoine's rule that I was talking about is you can't link to anything on other mazda forums regardless of whether or not it's for sale. I believe what was edited out of my post was "m,a,z,d,a,3,f,o,r,u,m". (minus the comma's of course) They actually have it set up now where it automatically replaces certain phrases with asteriks so that they don't have to go back and edit things. I was unaware that that rule included the names of other forums. Antoine, it's one thing to edit links, but now we're not allowed to mention certain words? What's next we won't be allowed to say "is"? If you're going to edit things this closely then change your rule. As a reminder, this is what you put in your post.
Please DO NOT post links to other Online Mazda3 communities.
A word isn't a link. I specifically left off the rest of the address so it wasn't a hotlink.

I completely agree. It's one thing to want to preserve a mazda community, but if things keep degenerating this way then I'll just take my contributions somewhere else. I have no wish to have to operate under martial law. As it is I already link people to this site (btw this is one of the two most active mazda forums I'm on) regularly to find information.
Sorry for jacking your thread bonhomme. I believe there's a thread on here where commie (from the forum which cannot be named) came over to this forum to share what he'd done with other people.

Incidentally here's (http://www.msprotege.com/forum/showthread.php?t=123637115) the other thread where this was discussed. There's a link to a walkthrough there..... but..... oh well it doesn't go anywhere anymore.
cool, vw style 3, I like it because it's different, but I would say I love the red/orange
I too think it would be really cool if the blue is combined with white, or even if everything was white would be nice, I am not saying that everything blue is bad(cool) .

It's basically just the British and their former colonies that drive on the right. There are some exceptions, though. For example, both Japan and Thailand drive on the right, because the Rolls-Royces of the Japanese Emperor and Thai King were quintessentially British.
Interestingly enough, Burma (a former British Colony) used to drive on the right, but sometime after gaining their independence, the Junta decided since they were rid of the Brits, they didn't want their right-hand driving legacy. In their infantile wisdome, they changed the laws overnight. Friends of mine who were there said it was an absolute nightmare.
