I've noticed that when I'm at a dead stop in my P5 and go to shift into first, many times the shifter doesn't seem to want to slot into gear. I usually have to take my foot off the clutch and then press it in and try several times before the shifter slots in. Anyone know what might cause this or a remedy. I've driven numerous manual trannys, but never had one as picky as this.

I had this problem a bit before I replaced my transmission fluid, but that was only when cold.

I had the same problem, had to hold a little pressure on the stick and when the time was right it would pop in.
I just had my transmission fluid changed and it's now much easier.

Good to know about the transmission fluid.
I also have the same problem going into first, occasionally. I usually do a second gear start (just to get barely rolling) and quickly shift to 1st and continue on.
Happens to me too, but reverse is the worst shit ever.
I have to go in every gear before i can sometime get it in.

If you let the clutch out in neutral then push it back in you can usually get it into reverse without a problem
