View Full Version : Phantom Purple?

Has anyone seen or bought a Phantom Purple Mazda3 (new for 2007, I think). It looks like it could be different while still a fairly dark, sensible color (although not as sensible as black or grey). There are none in stock in my area.

Photos and comments appreciated.

I saw it at the local dealership by me.. it is really pretty in person.. :)

The picture shows the color sample image from Mazda, but of course it doesn't really tell me how it will look on an actual car.

I don't think the MS3 comes in this color. The MS6 has a similar color, black cherry mica.

AAAAAIMEN! When I bought my P5 with awsome manly painted flames on the side I had so many girls say I had a cute car. AHHHH! I hated that. I almost wanted to sell it at that point. My wife still thinks the flames on the sides are pink stripes when they are really orange and red flames. Oh well I will be painting it a dark gun smoke metallic grey with silver metal flake details on the side. That should look more manly. No but the front end of the new 3's are fuuuugggglllyyyyyy! That grill makes sticks out like a nipple.

Well, sure it will at first, but then in early 2003 the MSP only came in Black or Orange, and had fog lights and a tasteful rear spoiler! Things change quickly with Mazda sometimes.

i actually do think that the phantom purple is a cool color. It is very unique and you wont see many of those around; pending a personal look at it i think i would drive it. Rather have the phantom blue though.

I drove to a far suburb where they had a Phantom Purple Mazda3. It's a very dark purple, perfectly respectable, not a Barneymobile by any means. It won't cause people to question my masculinity, but it won't elicit many lustful glances from young women either.

It's not a striking and unusual color like Copper Red Mica...on the way back I noticed a few other (non-Mazda) cars that had a similar deep purple color. But only a few.

Foolish- while that may have been true with the protege, there was only one MS miata and no big changes have been made or planned to be made to the MS6, hell they have also said they are not going to guarantee a 2008 model yr, so these 5000 coming to N.A. may be it, in those 4 colors. I think they are just waiting to see how its receieved.
