Did my first oil change on my new P5 and maybe I'm just imagining things, but the car seems to be running a little smoother now that I put Mobil 1 in it. I'm not sure what the previous owner had in there, but the oil filter he had on there was an A/C Delco if that tells you anything. This is also the first time I've ever put full synthetic in a vehicle I own, so perhaps I'm just used to crappy oil. The change was a breeze in general, much easier than my old Cavalier. Only difficult part was locating the filter, but once I found it, the rest was a snap. I'd say this car is fairly easy to work on. Now to get ready for a tranny flush & fill :)

Congrats :] My first change was nerve recking 'cause I had no idea if I'd break anything or not.

Congrats on the switch to snythetic!

What tranny fluid are you going to use? I'm about to change mine and I'm thinking Redline MT-90...

What kind of filter did your use?

I'm getting ready to do this with mobil 1 extended performane (15k miles, but i'll chance it at 10k) and a K&N oil filter.

I also have some Mobil 1 ATF on the way!

TheKid....I used a Mobil 1 EP filter. Was a bit pricey at $11, but figured I should use a good filter with good oil.

I was also talking to a buddy of mine who used to work on trucks in the army. He told me that synthetic is the best oil to use, but it tends to evaporate for some reason, so I should be sure to keep a close eye on the oil level and add as necessary between changes. Not sure if he's right, but he has plenty of experience with this stuff.
