With all eyes on the Ford Mondeo wagon concept, many observers wondered if we wouldn't get to see a sedan version until a future auto show. The speculation can end, because some quick thinking photographers caught the Mondeo sedan at what appears to be a photo shoot. I suspect the vehicle might be a production Mondeo, rather than a concept. This is because the sedan has a less dramatic front apron than the wagon concept, amber indicators on the front fender and in the headlights, wheels with a less polished finish, and no LED cluster beside the headlamps. Ford may have been preparing press photos for the car, with plans to release them shortly after the Paris Motor Show.

Its based on the Euro Ford Galaxy and S-Max. Its the size of both the Volvo S60 and Mazda 6.

Finally Ford is opening thier eyes to what the market wants, this car is pretty slick. The wagon is far slicker, I like 'em both.
On a side note, I recognized the location they are in right away. I used to live there, and goto school everyday on that road. You can't mistake the colors of the Bahamas.

So will this platform be the basis for the next Mazda6? Or is this new Ford based on the current Mazda6 chassis like the fusion?

I do not think it would be the chassis for the next Mazda6, Fusion, Milan, or Zephyr/MKZ but you never know. The Galaxy and S-Max share chassis parts with the 07 Volvo s80.

And now you're stuck in NoVA, that sucks :)
...then again, I'm not sure I'd want to live in the bahamas.

You take the good with the bad. I do miss the Bahamas to death, but NoVa has plenty to offer too. One huge perk about the Bahamas is you can import any car you want... American, Europe, Japanese, you name it. I went back recently to visit (it had been a long while) and was over joyed to see Skylines driving all around (shocked). Then again, the max speed limit is like 35 and the island is like 18 miles long on its longest end.
Sorry, not trying to thread jack, I swear. :D

WOW that thing looks nice. The tailights remind me of my old 97 tiburon tail lights. That is one hot ford!
