We got it! I sure hope the baby likes it. She was asleep by the time we got home.
2007 Mz5 GT, AT, NAV, Remote Start, Tire Pressure Monitoring System, Espresso brown leather (not so bad in person, very dark colored)
Bought in San Francisco Bay Area for US$100 over invoice = $22k + tax, license. Basically paid about $2k more than a comparable 2006 with cloth seats (most after-market leather is ~$1500).
Many dealers I had identified said the GT would not be available in the US for four months....well, I found the only one in the Bay Area and bought it!
Now I have to PIMP it out a bit...so look for me on MTV's PIMP MY RIDE!
My lovely bride wants to upgrade the stereo and get a media hook-up. I also want to tint windows ASAP. Also need to upgrade rear view mirror. So, now you will see me in the upgrade forums.
Holla atcha boy!

What exactly does the GT have that the regular Touring does not. Is it only Leather seats or is there something else? Thanks!

Doesn't the GT have HIDs as well? You got a good deal, did you have to pay any D&H? I bought mine for $100 over invoice.

The GT v. Touring....
GT - Leather, heated front seats, Xenon headlights
I think those are the differences.

Does the GT only come in an auto? If so what is it a 4 speed or 5 speed auto?

That's included in the total invoice price. Most dealers have similar names such as Ad fees, Documentation etc... that they add to the price, but destination is part of the invoice, unless you pick it up in Japan and ship it yourself.

I got my 5spd Touring w/Sirius and DVD locked in at $21,000. I didn't bargain hard, but I'm content with that figure. Considering you got an auto GT for only a grand more, you really worked your magic my friend... especially that the GT is in such limited availability in your area.
Congrats and enjoy!

eh? No, I don't have my 5 yet. I guess my first sentence may have been misleading. I just mean to say I got my 5's price locked in at $21,000. Not 'I got my 5' :p

I'm talking about the D&H fee, Doc. and handling. This is a fee charged by the dealer, basically "added profit", but they call it a fee for documentation and what not. Most dealers charge $249, but some charge more. This is separate from the ad fee the manufacturer charges the dealer as part of the cost of the car. Check your paperwork to see if it's there.

I am test driving a 2007 5 GT and have a ?. Where do you attatch the cargo net when the back seats are folded flat? And, where does the tonneau type cargo cover get stored when not in use? (I am guessing the garage, but maybe I'm missing something.

Black bezels!!!! its the only other thing that i want in my 2006 touring. As much as i love the almost silver chrome look, i think the black bezels look very Japanese. Wow why cant american car manufacture's make great cars like these?
:P
CONGRATS ON YOUR NEW CAR!! You're gonna love it if you dont already!

Dommo,
Regarding the doc fee $40 (this is a Port of Oakland fee, not documentation) and $8.75 tire fee (Thanks, Arnold!) They have an assessment fee (San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose area) which is $200 and I told him I wasn't paying it, so he lowered price by $200.
Ultimately, I bought online with no-hassle. I got the invoice upfront. Asked to wave the $200 assessment (BS) and walked OTD. The internet, Costco, or AAA buying is the only way to go. Saves all the headaches! Also, reading threads like these for an entire year helps! Thanks MAZDAforums! I know more about the Mazda5 than most of the sales people.
Cheers,
Matt
BTW - do we have a Bay Area Mazda5 forum/group? I definitely need to talk about a few mods. I am having my windows done this week at Detail Factory in SF.

None that I know of. There really isn't that big of a Mazda5 following on the internet, yet. It's growing though !
We should just have a mini-meet. :)

im not sure about Canada, but in the US the GT has the black bezels. Both head and tail lamps.
They look pretty cool.
