CPE Blowoff Valve Kit for Mazda CX-7
CPE [2036] $289.95

Custom Performance Engineering™, Inc., (CPE™) is proud to announce the release of their Blowoff Valve for the Mazda CX-7!

When adding performance accessories to a turbocharged engine, a blow off capable of dealing with the additional boost pressure and discharge volume should be selected. Aftermarket blow off valves are typically much more robust and are designed specifically for high horsepower applications. The HKS Super Sequential Blow-Off valve is no exception, and CPE is proud to offer a complete solution based around this high quality unit.

The CPE billet adaptor is what enables this BOV to work on the CX-7. It was designed and CNC machined in-house using advanced 3D machining processes and high quality 6061-T6 aluminum.

The CPE blow-off valve kit comes complete with a high quality HKS “super sequential” blow-off valve, a CPE designed and manufactured adapter flange, and all of the hardware necessary for either recirculation or dump-to-atmosphere mode.

A blow-off valve is mounted in the intake plumbing between the turbocharger compressor and the throttle plate. The blow-off valve is a second safety measure against the turbocharger over-boosting and damaging the engine. The blow-off valve is more commonly used to keep the turbocharger spinning when the throttle plate is suddenly closed. When the turbocharger is generating maximum boost pressure at full throttle and then the throttle is suddenly closed, compressed air coming from the compressor slams against the throttle, generating extremely high pressures that travel backwards to the compressor stopping the compressor from spinning. When the throttle plate is again opened, the engine must spool the turbocharger shaft again. The effects of this high pressure can also be very damaging to the turbocharger.

The mzr comes with a BPV (bypass valve) from stock. What CPE is referring to when they say recirculation mode, that is essentially a bpv and dump to atmosphere is bov mode.

Thanks for the info...but it still reads like japanese stereo instructions to me.

plain and simple, a bov blows off (into the atmosphere....pshhhhhhhh sound, or recirculating some!) when you shift u do not want forced air into ur motor! so the blow off valve gets rid of the pressure!!

lamens terms it means the turbine in your housing keeps spinning longer to provide power sooner than if it was released already... just considered bad in terms that it constantly keeps the the motor under pressure. The aftermarket one is designed to maintain this pressure longer than the oem one. Yes, it would prolly void your warranty if they find out you replaced it.

The Stock Bypass valve serves the exact same function.
