I just took out the old broken Kenwood, and got a Mazda>Pioneer adaptor that I attached to my pioneer harness with butt connectors. Well, I just plugged it in, and the deck doesn't turn on at all. Also, now the remote locks and the alarm don't work. Checked the fuse for the stereo and it's fine, and the fuse in the deck is fine.

The deck I'm trying to put in is a Pioneer Premier MP3 deck.

And ideas?

Ok, I put the Kenwood stock deck back in, and the door locks/alarm still didn't work. So I took out the door lock fuse to see if that was the problem, and then when I put it back in, the alarm light started flashing very rapidly, and the horn started beeping at random intervals. I put the key in the car to stop it from doing that, and it kept going. Also, the car won't start, so it seems started kill is engaged.

Also, when I came out of the bar the other night, the alarm was going off the same way. Rapid flashing light and constant beeping that was very random, but none of the car's lights were flashing. When I hit to disarm it, the light was still blinking rapidly, but that time the car started.

Ok, so still can't get it started, it's being towed to the dealership courtesy of roadside assistance.

so I am in a similar state now... Took out my EGR valve and cleaned the thing. When I pulled it out the spring was completely frozen in carbon. Cleaned it out and now it moves freely. Phew. Put my battery back in and the alarm (I think) is not allowing it too start. Help!

I am having the same problem as well :( I haven't had my car running much and the battery was dead. I went to jump it and the light for the alarm flashes very fast and it beeps at random intervals. The starter just clicks really really fast! heeelp

Figured out my problem. I had blow a fuse while pulling out my stock kenwood HU. I replace it and put in my new HU and everything is right with the world.
