damn sub

ok so i read the sticky on out pos sound systems, but there was nothing about this issue. my sub will only work sometimes, all of a sudden it stopped working one day then everyonce and a while it decides to work for like five minutes. do you think the sub is blown or maybe the amp is screwy? thanks

Is this the stock sub?

I would guess the Amp, or wiring. If the sub isn't working (like completely shut off) I doubt it is the sub. If the sub was bad, it would sound like shit, but it would still make noise.

in periods of no sound, check your amp for power indications. If you have power, check the signal going into the amp. ( try a mp3 player witha y-cable instead of the headunit)

start there.
