(shocked) Ouch, sorry to hear that. I got one on my Z last year, 93 on a 45. $275 painful dollars, I can still feel the pain in my pocket,LOL.

Yeap, it was suppose to be wreckless driving and I was supposed to take a ride in the 5.O's car, but the officer didn't write me up for it.

I got lucky, damn I should have fought that one. (You know, is not my fault my car looks like a Siver Bullet).

I got my first one couple of weeks ago. 87 in a 65 for a comparatively affordable $174. This happened in Kansas.

Everyone needs to get themselves a Valentine1 radar detector. It has saved me multiple times and more then paid for itself in my cars. One of which is a 350Z too! Then again in that car I also have this which has saved me a couple times as well. If you're gonna speed be prepared, just like the boy scouts! hahah

Yeah, I know about the V1 and I want to get one. Many Z owners like you have told me is worth the money. I also like that you can get updates or trade it in for a newer model.

I got pulled over for doing 59 in a 30. The cop said I didn't need a ticket like that on my insurance and let me go. Now why can't all cops be like that? :D

Exactly.

I've been lucky too, I get pulled over every now an then, and usually the fact that I am in the Military gets me out of a ticket, except for last year.

Speeking of speeding tickets, has anyone tried to instal a remote radar/laser in the front grill of a CX7 yet? I have had remotes since the early 90's, I find them hassle free of the power cord, etc. Tried to instal my new Escort ZR3 laser jammer and found some interesting facts about the lower front grill.

According the the Mazda dealerlship - body dept, you have to take the front bumper off to get to the lower grill area. Any techs here that can help? The top grill would work but the one side is not deep enough to put one of the two jammers.

well, I got nailed doing 51 in a 35 on my way to church. The road should clearly be a 45 considering it 2 lanes both ways but there is a stretch that is unmarked and the GA driving handbook says speedlimits are equal to that posted or 35 if unposted. UGH. COst me $265 and the part that erks me most is the fact that cops are up and down this road looking for speeders because the area just became a city "Sandy Springs" and so the city officials are pressing the PD for municipal monies!!!!

i got my first acouple of months ago in my MS6. said i was goin 71 in a 45 BUT MY CAR WAS IN 2ND GEAR?!?! 2nd gear in a stock MS6 redlines at 55. and let me tell you, this cop was the biggest d-bag i have ever met. so it cost me 2 months with no license, 275 dollars, and a loss of trust with the parents.

Should have fought it. I had a cop do something kinda like that when I was 18 in my Protege. Claimed he clocked me doing 57 in a 35, was only doing 42-43 and it was actually a 40 zone, while going around a corner in the opposite direction of travel. Fought it and got it thrown out.

I have a thought (now and then) ... cops ought to have to pay the fine and legal fees if the case is thrown out (a bad ticket). Maybe they'd be a little more careful and less vindictive if so.

Interesting. The usually don't give me a second look in the CX-7, but the MX-5.. lookout! lol

Yeah, I've noticed that too. Maybe we are invisible to radar and laser. :p

When speed limits were 55mph, I was testing out my modified Saab turbo on Interstate 80. I saw the cops antenna in the mediums tall grass and got the car down to 97 before he got a lock. I was probably in the 130 mph neighborhood and still accerating when I hit the brakes. I still remember the big smile on the state trooper.

Trust me, the CX-7 is not invisible. And I don't have a front plate so they don't even have that to bounce the laser off of, but they still were able to clock it.
