What's up with that name "Qashqai"? How can anyone take you seriously...when you say...."That's right...I drive a Qashqai"...Not to mention it's pretty boring...(notcool)...Wake up Nissan!

Nissan went from looking like the were gunna make a huge comeback to looking like they are gunna be another Toyota: Competent but utterly boring cars.

I have to say that I don't know what my favorite car company is right now. It used to be BMW due to their understated yet solid styling and incomprable chassis and engines but then they got bangled. For now it's Mazda because it seems like they want to bring sporty affordable fun to the masses and show people that affordable does not have to mean boring.

The only problem with mazda is that I'm wary of turbocharged motors and will be really happy once they release the new Mazda6 with the 3.5L V6. that has a high probability of being my next carit they don't make it too big and screw up the styling.

It's got less wheel gap than the new sentra

The sad thing is you're not joking. Nissan = boring cars

Thank goodness for the 350Z, Titan and Murano. 2 cool different cool cars and a nice truck.

The skyline will be an image booster for them also. Buy why oh why can't they stick the awesome VQ35DE in a handsome stylish RWD family sedan????

At least Infinit is kicking butt with the G35C and M45

Nissan does have the VQ35de in stylish RWD sedans! Infiniti G35 and M35 have it. But I do see what you are saying no under 30K RWD sedan from Nissan. It would cut into Maxima and Altima sales numbers. I think Nissan would be smarter to offer an AWD version of the Maxima. I would love a Sport Wagon powered by the VQ35de. How about the Stagea?

I still dont see why they killed the silvias.

Because coupe sells are slow. The S15 was replaced in Japan by the 250 GT. Which is a Skyline powered by a 2.5L V6 rated at 215hp.

Stagea is a little too boxy for my tastes . If the last gen altima was RWD especially the SE-R version, I would have LOVED it!

the gt 300 has the vq30.
its nissans chevy small block equivilent.
it goes in everything

The VQ30 has been replaced by the VQ35. The VQ35 is a development of the VQ30.

damn the vq35hr revs to 7500.

I can't wait to hear what that sounds like coupled to an exhaust like the one on the Z *drools*

I looked at my tach in my 03 Altima and the redline is 6800. I too can not wait to hear the new VQ35hr in a G35 or 350z. I get goosebumps when I hear Altima SE-R, 350z, G35c, or FX35 driveby.

Qashqai (also spelled Ghashghai, Qashqay, Kashgai and Qashqa'i) are a Turkic-speaking tribal confederation of clans in Iran. They mainly live in the provinces of Fars, Khuzestan and southern Isfahan but especially around the city of Shiraz in Fars.

even the maxima is only under $30k in absolute base form, before delivery charges. similarly equipped, the maxima and the G35 sedan are only about $3,000 apart. i was surprised at how expensive the maxima has gotten, and how (relatively) cheap the G is. i think the maxima is more for those people who prefer FWD; people who want a RWD sedan go to Infiniti. a RWD Nissan sedan would steal sales from the G, not the Maxima.

If the packaging was done right and it came well-equipped but not too up-market, I think a RWD Nissan Sedan would be just fine. Nissan and Infiniti cater to two different kinds of people. You don't want to bring Infiniti downmarket but I think Nissan can relase a RWD sedan that does not cannibalize Infiniti sales.

I know what you're saying. Hell, you can option an Altima up to over 32k.. trust me, I know from experience (ughdance)(ughdance)

My mom didn't want an Infiniti though, and she knows that it's the same car company. She just really likes Nissan, she's never had a bad experience with their cars (unlike her brief stint with Dodge.. 95 intrepid traded in in 97 with 50k miles and a blown tranny, 97 intrepid traded in at 102k miles with a blown tranny, a/c that shot glass out the vents, and numerous other issues...)

Good suggestion, but i think the only reason is because nissan doesn't see the demand for a RWD mid size sedan. If there was, i think we would have already seen a "bargin" G35 :)

Instead the car companies see a demand for small SUV's, thus the reason for this thread (yes) and all the other new SUV's comiung to the market.

infiniti has a new small SUV coming out to compete with the Acura RDX. Maybe it will be based on this.
