mine has blown twice, you should have just taken it to the dealer and had it replaced under warrenty, i'd still do that if I were you

I'm pretty sure only a 8' sub will fit in the stock location. most people have upgraded to a JL if they can't get a new stock one under warrantee.

Yea, its an 8" sub in the stock enclosure... My kenwood has yet to blow and i really like the way it sounds... tuned right that thing hits pretty damn hard for an 8"!!! Otherwise, I have heard good things about Rockford subs in there... Kicker isnt bad either.

I put a JL 8w3v2d2 in there the second time the kenwood popped. Sounds good.

I have a 10' JL in my garage from my Civic and it was great. Sounds soooo much better than the factory Kenwood, so when it blows I'll buy a new 8' JL to replace it.

Unless you bought the extended warranty yours will expire at 50k... if you havent rolled that yet get your car in there!!!

You might like an 8" JL in there in place of the factory 8" Kenwood, but I didn't. Don't get me wrong, it still sounded better than the Kenwood, but it doesn't even begin to hold a candle to the 12" JL in a sealed box from my old car. I run the 12" in the box off the factory amp at all times, unless I'm traveling and need the extra trunk room. Then I bitch the whole way about the missing extension and volume from my sub bass.

Unless there was some sort of condition when you bought the car that said that it should be til 50k... i would at least ask. what are they going to say... no?

So you installed a new amp and found out the sub was blown? Was this amp to replace the factory amp? If so, perhaps there was nothing wrong with the factory amp.

Anyway, as mentioned above, only a select number of 8" subs will fit into the stock enclosure. The JL Audio 8W3 is probably your best bet.

Does the amp fuse blow on yours if you turn it up too loud? Mine seems to...I put in my buddies 12" Alpine Type R and it has twice..:S
