Just put my aem wideband in today, simple install. So i took it out on the road expecting to see it relatively rich because i have the ss afc from dsm. So anyway i do a third gear pull and it ran at 11.5 to 12.0 which i think is pretty damn good. That afc was the best mod i have ever done. Oh and i like the wideband too..

With my version 1 at full throttle full boost it would set right at 11.8. Now since it's gone, my car at full throttle full boost goes off the AEM WB rich, so probably somewhere around 9:1. My old dyno showed the AFR as rich as 9.2 stock. I miss it very much, I can't wait for the UPS man to get here tomorrow (fingers crossed) but he doesnt get here until about 6 pm. Looks like a late night install party for me! I also miss the better gass milege with the AFC. If you can resist running it hard all the time, you can see gains of 30-40 miles per tank.

my wideband seems to be a $250 light show. It sweeps all over the place when driving out of boost. When i go partially into boost, it does the same thing, just sweeps all over the place. The only time it gives a "consistnent" reading is when i go full throttle... then pings at 10.0, or when im sitting, idling, then its sits at 14.7-15.1

anyone else experience this?

It's going to sweep back and forth when you are cruising, mine is 14.5 to 15.0 at idle and when i am not really on the throttle cruising. At partial throttle it goes rich below 11.0 and when i get on the throttle i am 11.5 to 12.0 so yea your gauge is normal.

I'm installing my wideband tomorrow with a friend. I have and dsm afc hooked up, my question is does the wideband hook-up to the afc?

if you have version II yes, version I can only take the narrow band input for a/f ratios...

On the msp there is already a spot for the wideband in the downpipe. I just pulled out a pipe plug and installed the o2 sensor. So i would say drill into the downpipe.
