Headunit unable to go to ex mode

Hi everyone. i have read this forum for quite a while and find a lot of help here. Have a Mazda3 1,6 2006. Bought the neo ion interface installed in the posterior port for the cd changer. Everything fine. Conected the iPod, it charges but double tap in the cd button doesn t change to the ex mode(pissed) . What i am doing wrong? Thanks in advance for the help guys.

Hmm. I'd try disconnecting it and reconnecting it to make sure the plug is fully seated in the jack. After that I'd contact the seller and see about getting a replacement unit.
