I love getting into my MSP. Especially on hawt sunny Texas days. When I got back from Europe and went to pick my girl up for the first time earlier this week first thing she said when she got in was "man...i missed that smell."
Several years from the factory and one trip to school short of 24,000 miles my baby still smells fresh inside. Ive never once sprayed anything in there, rarelly ever driven with the windows down, and have had in garaged and covered for most of its life. but even so i still think its incredible how my car smells so new (even other local msp owners get mad at me for it) and my bro's 2005 truck lost its smell months ago. anybody else with a msp (or even an mp3...man that would be incredible) with that oh so good smell still? i hope i can keep it lasting a few more thousand miles. at least till 35k
i love the smell of my leather in my P5 does that count?

I'm a smoker (I know), and people still comment on the new car smell and I'm at 56k miles.
So you know, most of what you're smelling is solvents and plasticizers in the interior plastics still coming out. It's not actually a healthy situation from what I understand (like smoking is, lol) but I like the smell too. It's like some weird status symbol.

yean, new car smell is actually detrimental to your health. the smell actually comes from the plastics, greases and liquids emitting gasses left over from production and packaging. because the dealer usually lets these cars sit in the sun with the windows up, it amplifies the gas emissions and increases new car smell. but it does smell nice.

Ya I smoke to and for those who know I smoke always say the same thing. I really thought it was my way of ventilating while driving but I guess it's a Msp thing.

When I bought my MSP it had 45k and the new car smell. Evidently I ruined it with my "windows down" driving style case it doesn't smell anything like that now. I don't like the stale smell that it has picked up so I spray things inside on occasion. I guess it's safe to say I should be sponsored by fabreeze. lol
Unless it's raining or snowing (or some type of precipitation is falling from the sky), I always have my windows open. Maybe not entirely down, but at least cracked. I hate driving without fresh air, I've always been like that.
Anyway, my MSP never really smells like much of anything, to be honest. It'll smell like whatever happens to be in there. If I've left my workshirt and/or apron (I'm a waitress) in there, it'll smell a bit like food -- NASTY. But in generally, it almost always smells like absolutely nothing, because I don't usually leave anything in my car, haha.
I used to use some of those 'leaf' air fresheners (I can't remember the brand), but they lost their appeal after awhile. I would like to get some kinda stealthy air freshener, but I'm never non-lazy enough to go look for one.

My MSM lost it's new car smell in like 2 days.
I don't think mine is particularly 'new car', but everyone says they love the way it smells. When i bought it it had a little vanilla canister type freshener under the seat, i've left it there but i don't think it does anything anymore.

My 2002 P5 still had that smell when I sold it earlier this year. It had a bannana smell in it for a while after I spilled a gallon of bannana pudding all over the floor. That smell went away and the new car smell took over.

probaly a wholeseller like sams or BJ's. As I doubt the local grocery has a gallon of any flavor pudding. Walmart might too.

Mine kept that smell until about 30,000 miles with regular cleaning... then I started playing hockey again. Now it smells like teen spirit. My cat smells like tuna.

I've never owned a new car but my car still smells like the day I bought it. And when I clean and vacuum the inside it makes it smeller newer. I LOVE IT

HA! that actually does sound kind of good... only with real banana chunks in it though... he he he...
My car still has the new car smell and I just rolled 45k ... Keeping it clean has kept it around I think... although it has taken on a suedish smell since I put my suede corbeau seat in last month.... still a good smell though :)
