You can't physically run 8psi or you can't because of fear of blowing the motor?

No profanities in thread titles. I edited it.

With that said - you can't run over 8? Geez.

Hahaha the dealership told you that? get it in writing and make sure they'll cover your "high boost" escapade if your motor does go...

dude chillllll seriously. yeah it kinda sucks but its not the end of the world. You could always go for an EMS like unichip or MPI, at that point the reflash (timing advance) becomes pretty much void, since those control timing. OR, you can have an AFC (which only controls A/F, not timing) programmed for a flashed car, although in my mind that wouldn't be as safe as having a unichip or another that controls timing.

ok, so seriously if you think you are THAT much safer running over 8 psi on unflashed ECU u're wrong.

btw, i ran 9psi on my flashed 03.5 for 2 years and it was fine.
and some people blew unflashed motors at 8.

the benefits of flashed ECU are much greated than the benefits of unflashed (if any).
........better gas milage, smoother accel, stronger mid-range.....etc.

my unflashed 03 vs. my flashed 03.5 was a night and day difference.
in hot weather unflashed ECU falls flat on its face. period.
my car ran great 2 hours in the day. one hour in the morning.....and one hour at night. all the other time it drove like ass.

save the trouble and get yourself engine management.

I have similar mods to yours (iON FMIC + TBE) and I'm running 10psi daily and so far so good. Hopefully mine holds up too :D. I think you should be fine though, but yeah as everyone said look into some EMS.

I second that. The dumbass at our local dealershit told me I could turn by boost up to 21 PSI on my stock motor... I should have asked for THAT one in writing!!!
