I want to install a boost gauge and a/f gauge and i wanted to mount them right under my head unit, in that flip down storage area like i have seen on many others, I am a huge fan of this opposed to the pillar style. I need help in how do i go about doing this. Mounting tools? is it just as easy as pillar gauges? and what type of gauges should i get. links would be awsome. thanx in advance and yes im a newb.

That is exactly where I have mine and I love it. Its super easy too. If you take off the radio bezzel the din pocket should just pull out (it may be kind of tough if it hasnt been out before but it is just plugged into the back).... I bought a triple din guage pod off of the forums that are angled toward the driver- they look pretty sweet. I will see if I can post some pics after work. The guage pod whether single double or triple should just clip in- its up to you I guess how to want to mount it but then the guages just trail off behind the radio through the firewall and into the engine bay. Quite simple actually. I have the autometer C2 boost, air fuel, and oil pressure guages that are blue indiglo and i love them! much less distracting than on the pillar...

I have the gauges on my Pillar, but basically the install is the same. I wired the power into the cigarette lighter so they come on and off when the key is on. If your gonna do the radio approach it will probably be easier because the wires are right there.
Just a note though, if you want a fully accurate Air/Fuel gauge get a wideband gauge not a narrowband one. Basically the Autometer one is a $50 lightshow because it's only accurate at 80% throttle. I have it, and like it, but its basically for show more than anything else given I don't go 80% throttle between traffic lights :)

Yea, just my opinion... heres a pic though... they aren't like super angled, just a little bit so you dont get a glare when you are driving and trying to read them. Be sure to post up a pic or 2 when you get them installed!
