Hi everyone. i have read this forum for quite a while and find a lot of help here and now i have a noggin scratcher. when i do not have my ipod connected to my HU it gets confused and will/will not see any CD i put in. even when i can get one to work, just shutting off the car and restarting will make the "cd in" indicator dissapear and it will go to "EX" and i cannot get it to return to CD.

i have the most recent updates for the ipod and their never was one for the neo ion that i have been able to find.

the interface sounds great and functions fine (sloooowly) when there is an ipod connected but most of the time i do not want the ipod left in the vechile.

i have entertained the idea of disconecting the power to the adapter with a small toggle switch when i don't have the ipod in the car but i thought i would ask you folks if you have encountered this problem and have a less invasive fix.
thanks

This is the first problem I've heard of with the Neo Ion, though really it seems like fewer people have bought them because of the price tag.

Have you tried e-mailing the manufacturer to see what they think?

I have talked to folks at dennison and he was sympathetic and promised to call me back. i never heard anything. i can find no updates for this device. dennison has revamped the whole ice interface so i think they are pushing their other products under the rug. the gentelman did suggest checking the wiring of the plugs and i did. everything is fine there. when i disconect the the Neo, the raido works fine that's why i thought i'd just toggle the power lead if i can find it or just unplug the DIN connector at the board.

If I were you I'd get a refund or replacement. It's defective and should be covered by warranty. I've had the Neo Ion interface for 9 months and not a single problem. Your CD player should work just fine with or without an iPod connected.
